Unknown POV:

I could hear them laughing. I could see them smiling as I carefully peered through the window. It was cold outside; almost too cold to bear, but I had to get this done as quickly as possible.

I made my way towards the front door and rested the basket on the door step, repeatedly tucking the three thick pieces of fabric over and under on all sides.

"Goodbye," I whispered softly.

I firmly knocked on the door three times then sprinted back into the forest, disappearing forever.

Narrator's POV:

"I can't believe you actually did that, Kai!" laughed Lloyd.

Kai's face was red from embarrassment.

"Did you seriously have to tell them that story, Nya?" Kai said sounding annoyed.

"Come on, it was pretty funny!" Nya exclaimed.

"Whatever, I was only seven," Kai grumbled.

Knock, Knock, Knock

"Who could it that be at this hour?" Cole asked.

"I dunno, I'll go get it," Nya responded.

Nya walked towards the door while the ninja kept laughing at Kai's embarrassing childhood story. Nya swung the door open only to get a cold blast of air blown into her face, along with a few snowflakes landing on her nose.

"Hello?" Nya asked.

Nya looked first to her left and then her right but found nobody. Before closing the door, a small cry broke the silence. Nya looked down to see a tiny baby wrapped in thick layers of cloth and placed in a basket.

Nya placed a hand over her mouth and slowly bent down to gently pick the baby up and into her arms.

"Oh my god, guys! Lloyd, Cole, Kai, Jay, Zane, come quick!" Nya yelled.

Zane, Kai, Cole, Jay, and Lloyd all came running in response to Nya's call.

"What's wrong?" Cole asked.

Nya turned around to reveal the tiny infant in her arms.

"Whoa, where did you get that?" Jay asked surprisingly.

"I opened the door and it was just lying in a basket on the doorstep!" Nya responded.

"Well, what do we do?" Lloyd asked.

It was silent for the moment after until Zane said, "I say we should keep it."

"Wait, what?" Lloyd questioned.

"I agree with Zane. This little guy clearly has nobody. I say we take it in and raise it as our own," Kai said.

Cole, Lloyd, Jay, and Nya exchanged looks.

"I also agree with Zane and Kai," interrupted Sensei Wu.

Everyone turned to Sensei whom was off in the corner of the room.

"How long have you been standing there?" Jay asked.

"Long enough to hear everything," Sensei said, "I suggest that we keep this child."

"Hm, then I guess it's settled. We're keeping it!" said Nya.

"Wait," said Cole, "There's still one more thing I need to know. Is it a boy or a girl?"

Nya slightly unwrapped the fabric only to quickly cover it up again.

"Definitely a boy," Nya answered.
