Shawn stode into the Santa Barbara police station, a bag of candy in his hand. Valentine's Day was tomorrow and he was working on plans. He made his way to his girlfriend's desk, saying hello to Buzz on the way. She was typing - eyes focused on her computer screen, finishing up a report from their most recent case. Her hair was up in a ponytail; she blew her bangs out of her eyes. Shawn smiled at the action. She had just gotten them trimmed and she wasn't used to the shorter length.
"Hey Jules," Shawn smiled. He went around her desk and pulled a chair over to sit on her right side.
Juliet saved her file and smiled at her boyfriend, sitting back in her chair and welcoming the break. "Hi Shawn! I didn't think I would see you until later."
"I was perusing the aisles of CVS and I saw the candy hearts," Shawn explained. "Everyone loves candy hearts! Gus especially likes the green ones. I'm partial to the pink ones."
"The yellow are my favorite," Juliet told him.
"Where's Lassieface?" Shawn looked around.
"He's having lunch with Marlowe."
"More for us!" Shawn opened the bag and dumped a few out on her desk forming a pile of orange, white, purple, green, and pink candy hearts with bright pink writing. Shawn picked up a heart and handed it to Juliet.
She read the heart aloud. "Sup babe?" She giggled.
In response, Juliet handed him a heart, eating the one he had given her.
"UR Mine," Shawn read, "I like it!"
They continued to sift through the hearts finding cute ones.
Juliet gave Shawn a purple heart reading "Love You" and Shawn replied with two hearts, one yellow with the words "Love You" and a pink one saying "My Girl". Juliet grinned and passed him one reading: "Kiss Me".
"Absolutely," he said and leaned over to kiss her softly.
It was Shawn's turn to give her a candy heart. The white heart he gave her said "Soul Mate". Grinning, Juliet gave him an orange heart with the words "One & Only". Shawn slid a green heart over, the pink words proclaiming "Crazy 4 U". Juliet picked up two pink hearts and put them in a short candy heart sentence in front of Shawn.
"I heart you BFF," Shawn read aloud. He gave her a heart that said "XOXO".
Juliet laughed at the heart she picked up and gave it to Shawn. The orange candy heart said "Too Hot".
Buzz stopped at her desk to ask her to sign something and Shawn took her distraction to plan his next move.
When Juliet turned back to Shawn, sitting with her candy heart collection was a diamond ring and a yellow candy heart, its pink words asking "Marry Me?".
Juliet looked at him, a smile spreading across her face. She picked up a pink heart from the pile and put it next Shawn's candy heart collection.
The pink words proclaimed, "Yes".
