I remember it like it was yesterday! I was so excited! As a third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, I was finally able to visit Hogsmeade. Before I left for my first visit to Hogsmeade, I handed in my signed permission slip to Gryffindor's head, Professor McGonagall. After that, I happily headed out on my way to Hogsmeade in my Gryffindor robe with the rest of the Gryffindors that were going that day. I was sad to go without my friends (Ron, Harry, and Hermione), but Ron was sick, Harry didn't have a signed permission slip, and Hermione wanted to get ahead in her studies. The first thing I did when I got to Hogsmeade was walk to The Three Broomsticks to get a butter beer, which I was highly recommended to drink by Ron's older brothers, Fred and George. When I arrived at The Three Broomsticks, I bought a butter beer and sat down at one of their wooden round tables. Before I took my first sip, I saw Dobby the House Elf at a table across from myself. I was introduced to him by Harry in my previous year at Hogwarts, so I called to him.

"Hi, Dobby," I said.

"Hi, Jessie," Dobby happily replied as he walked over to me.

"Wanna hang out during the rest of my day at Hogsmeade with me?" I asked.

"Of course Dobby would!" Dobby answered.

When we were both finished with our delicious butter beers, we immediately went to Honeydukes candy shop. We stuffed ourselves with candy, and we spent the rest of the day together walking around Hogsmeade while catching up on each other's lives. In the evening, I was instructed to be back at the school, so Dobby and I said bye to one another. I remember being so glad to see Dobby again and I remember hoping he would be at Hogsmeade the next time I went.

And that is one of my favorite memories from growing up.
