There was a public transport strike, so we all had a day off last Wednesday. Although it was unfortunately a dull, rainy day...we decided to visit an Indoor Theme Park. After my mum locked the house she entered the car, where me and my friend were waiting. "Finally, there you are." I said. "Can we drive off now?" "Yes." Mum said and started the car.

The trip was calm and there was no traffic jam, although no one was able to use a train or a bus to get from A to B. When we arrived on the carpark, my friend and me jumped out of the car and made a race to the entrance of the park. I ran as fast as possible and overtook her. "First, first!" I said when I reached the door.

After we payed for the tickets, we entered different rides and buyed something to eat and drink. Around half an hour later it stopped to rain and we went outside to see some more attractions. "Let's take that one!" my friend said and pointed to a tower, which was about 20 metres high. We got closer and heard an announcement: "Scream. The worlds' highest drop-down tower. Scream if you want to. If you're up there, nobody will hear you." "Without me! You know exactly, that I'm afraid of big hightes!" Mum said. "Ok, see you later, then." I answered and me and my friend entered the 'Scream'.

"That was brilliant! You have missed a lot, Mum." I said, when we got out of the 'Scream' again. "At least you two liked it. We have to go now anyway. It's 7 pm. The park is closing in some minutes." Mum said. When we were on the motorway to drive home, we listened to the news on the radio: „Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen, here's an important message for everyone who's driving on Motorway A 7 from Hanover to Bremen." We stopped talking and listened. "There had been an accident and now there's a traffic jam of around 17 kilometres. Please drive slowly to not increase the situation. We'll inform you at once, when we have any new information about it. Thank you for listening." The announcement was just finished, when the cars in front of us began to drive slower. Some minutes later, we stopped and sttod at the end of the traffic jam.

"At least there won't be any traffic jam now." I said, when we drived into our street. "Standing on the motorway for one and a half hour is enough in my mind." After Mum and me had left the car and locked it, she searched for the housekey in her pocket. Just when she wanted to open the door, she realized, that it was already open. "But... I've locked the house before we left!" she said. Carefully we entered the house and we couldn't believe our eyes: Everything was in a mess! Here and there, different thing were lying on the floor. The laptop I put on my desk the same morning was missing. "Oh no. A burglar was here!" I said shocked. The same evening we called the police and I phoned my friend to tell her what happened.
