A/N: My take on Suzaku's non-identity, and Lelouch's twisted geass that he put on him--because if putting "live on" on Suzaku wasn't enough, this sure is.

Warning: Spoilers for Final Turn: RE;, almost nonexistent BL. Take it as friendship.

In retrospect, it was all that could be expected of Lelouch.

The mask and suit fit perfectly to his frame—though, when Lelouch got his measurements, Suzaku didn't really know. It was ironic, to say in the least. But it was a small matter.

With more pain that he would have expected, he watched the bonfire that blazed in the middle of the Tokyo Settlement—that was, in actuality, the hole left by FLEIJA—of the parade, and of most of Lelouch's belongings. Suzaku had left Nunnally at the school. She didn't need to see this (see was such an unfamiliar term with her), not right after Lelouch's death. He didn't know how to comfort her, in any case. Millay could do such a better job.

In his hand, he clutched Euphie's crest. In the end, all hatred had died with Lelouch. It burned away in the fire, dissolving into ashes of a Requiem that rang throughout the world. And in the end, he had avenged his princess' death.

Without a word, he tossed in Euphemia's, Third Princess of Britannia's, crest.

The fire blazed blue for a moment, erasing the paint that had been so dearly defined to him before, making the metal indistinguishable from every other piece that had been thrown in haphazardly. And with it burned his hate for Lelouch Lamperouge, Zero, The Demon King of Britannia, until it was unrecognizable, nonexistent, and melted down into a pool of acceptance.

And somewhere, he faintly recalled that he had loved him, once upon a time. But that too melted down in the fire that was Lelouch's final gift to the world.

There was no such person as Suzaku Kururugi, Euphemia's knight. He had died in a hospital, so desperately clinging on to the memory of her face. There was no such person as Suzaku Kururugi, Knight of Zero. He had died in a fire on Damocles.

There was no such person as Suzaku Kururugi. Only Zero lived on.

The bloodstains from Lelouch's caress blazed brightly on his face—such a burgeoning hope it was.
