A/N: In chapter two I planned on explaining the peg-leg and Valka, but cut it later on. This happens right after Gothi's home room, after Astrid and Hiccup meet again, but before they talk about the drama club. Here's the scene for you lovely people.

Walking beside Hiccup, Astrid glanced down at his prothstetic leg wondering what happened to his left leg.
"So...What..uh.. what happened to your..um..well..leg?" Astrid asked very cautiously, not wanting him to get mad at her.
"Car accident. The door smashed my leg and nocked me into a comma for months. I didn't realize my mom had died till a year after the accident." Hiccup said, as if he was reciting it from memory to her.
"Oh...I'm so sorry. I wouldn't have asked-"
"No. It's fine. I'm kinda used to it now. It happened three years ago Astrid." he interrupted. While she felt better he wasn't offended by her question, when he said her name it sent shivers down her spine. She tried to act normal but found it hard. Oh, how Heather would laugh at her right now. Falling for the new kid!
"Anyway, Welcome to Berk High!"
