Ezio's point of view:

I was running over the roofs, heading towards the Venetian Thieves Guild: Left, left, right and jump. The torches gleamed and flickered high on the towers. Only a few people were walking in the streets at this time of night.

That is when I heard a muffled scream from down bellow. I came to a halt. As I peered down, I saw three men and a delicate young woman. Her skin was very pale and her long, light blonde hair was worn up in a bun.

She was wearing an expensive looking white silk dress, covered by a light grey cloak. She must have been out of noble ranks.

One of the men had her pinned up against a wall. It was a soldier from look of it. He spoke: "Why hello there, pretty one, up for a little fun?" while showing is rotten teeth. The other two men sniggered.

She was struggling to get free but his grasp had been to strong. He started kissing her neck demandingly. Another scream escaped her mouth. He clasped his had over it.

"Make it quick" said one of the other men as he turned too look in the other direction. "Oh, I was just getting started" he said with a mischievous smile while he pushed up her dress.

Without a second thought I jumped down and said: "What do you think you're doing?" "Oooi, you have a lot of nerve talking to us like that! I tell you what, if you leave now, we wont kill you" one of the guards responded.

I pulled my sword out of my belt. This caught the attention of the third guard who turned around. He was about to say something when his throat was cut by a dagger. It had been the girl. Woah, were did that come from, I thought.

Before the others realized what happened she stabbed them in the back of there necks with throwing knives. They fell to their knees and started throwing up blood. Now they were dead.

I took a step back in surprise. She realized this and said: "Afraid, Ser Ezio?" "No, just surprised… wait a moment. How do you know my name?" I asked her in utter astonishment.

"Don't look so surprised. I know all about you and your work in Florence and Tuscany. Good work too, if a little unrefined." she said with a straight face. "And who might you be?" I asked her harshly, being ungrateful for the criticism.

"ohh, I didn't think you would be so arrogant to think you were the only assassin in Venezia. You should do your research a little better" she replied in a mocking voice.

She was just about to leave as I said: "You're not going to thank me?" She looked into my eyes and I could see gratefulness. That is why her response caught me off guard. "For what?" she asked, without even flinching.

"Saving you, of course?" I said slightly irritated. She started to circle me as she spoke in an ironic voice: "Such a noble young man, leaping to assist the beauty in aid."

"Now who said you were a beauty? I replied, going along with her game. She stopped right in front of me. She was about a head shorter than me.

As she gazed up into my eyes she said: "Well there must be a reason why you can't take your eyes off of me." Her bright blue eyes were glimmering in the torch light.

I turned my gaze of her and started to mumble. How was I supposed to respond too that?

"The ladies man at a loss of words? I feel honored." She continued. Her face was now only inches apart from mine.

Suddenly she turned and ran. Over her shoulder she called: "You don't mind cleaning up my mess, do you?" I ran after her. Damn, she was fast. I lost her after two corners. Shit!

I searched the district for quite a while, but I didn't see her again that evening.

On a balcony above, she broke into a smile.
