Heaven
I gaze upon the Dobe beside me, his glossy ocean eyes twinkling in bemusement and wonder as he gazed beyond the horizon. All the while we've been here, he's simply been dazed, basking in the after of the setting sun. He probably hasn't blinked, fighting the temptation to rehydrate his eyes, just to capture every moment of this scene before the breathtaking twilight that's sure to come.
I'm not sure what drove me to bring him here, I though I can't say that I'm disliking his reaction, even though it's beyond what ever I imaged.
I discovered this place sometime last summer, on my birthday I think; not that I could really tell seeing how it passes like any ordinary day. Just the right amount of trees to inhabit the right amount of fireflies. The perfect height of grass so it's comfortable, not itchy. The right number of crickets so their chirps are soothing, not annoying. Nothing to distract me, infinite space to think. No one's ever here when I am…
I deemed it as my haven.
"Again!" Naruto voices. The sun seems to have finally set and his eyes are shut tightly in a hard, forceful blink. I smirk.
"Well, what do you want me to do? A sunset no jutsu?" I joke. His eyes snap open, wider that before.
"YOU CAN DO THAT!?" He's naïve as ever.
"Dobe…" I breath, and I lean to kiss him, just because I could. It was chaste, and soon we parted.
I think I just realized something.
"Teme…"
This place even has the perfect amount of distractions.
"Bring me here again!"
Enough to keep me none too bored.
"Sure." And I lean to kiss him again, redeeming this place as our heaven.
