all love is unrequited. all of it.

You loved her once. Or maybe you didn't. Maybe it was desire mixed with teenage lust and hormones and it took control of you until you couldn't see straight or think or function without thinking of her and it was infatuation, pure and simple but you told yourself it was love.

It was like a love potion but so much more complex because your want wasn't manufactured or fake but it wasn't real either. It was something else. Elusive and ever changing and you couldn't explain it then and you can't possibly hope to explain it now. All you can do is tell yourself day after day that you never loved Lily Evans.

But that doesn't explain why your heart beats a furious tattoo against your skin every time you look into her son's eyes.

I'm not really into the Snape/Lily pairing but it's just so tragic and heart breaking and I'm a sucker for unrequited love so I had to write this. I might make this into a series of drabbles on either Snape/Lily or unrequited love in general depending on which one my muse takes a fancy too. I hope you liked this drabble and reviews are awesome.
