TAILS OF THE NIGHT
Chapter 1
It was a dark and cold night. The wind and the thunderbolts made it clear that a storm was to start. At the woods, the shadows danced as if performing an opera telling sinister tales by the night's mischievous voice.
A little cub wandered alone.
A worn piece of cloth (that could have been originally white) was hung on its neck, to keep it somewhat warm. So, the reason why it shuddered was not just cold… but the sad destiny it was to face.
He was different. He'd never been part of the pack and that was obvious since the beginning. That was also the main reason for the ones who were supposed to care neglecting him and the other bullying the little fur ball.
He was hated by everybody, loved by no one. And he didn't even know what he had done to be treated so harshly.
It was a short life, however there were no reasons to make it last longer.
The woods were known for its dark inhabitants, who would feast on blood and would dance merrily at their victim's despaired cry. Their eyes shone in pleasure admiring the terror reflected on the shed tears and pleas for a quick end for the helpless prey.
Creatures that were not alive, nor spirits. Beings of endless evil, outside of the natural life cycle that stated everything that born should grow and die.
Black and white fur shivered at every single noise, hiding on the chaos of dancing shadows while it waited for the entity its people hated and feared the most.
It could feel… yes, it surely could smell something ancient, lacking life… a chill down the spine… the woods' mocking giggle playing around with the wind.
Then, cub noticed a vulture standing there. The creature was not big, but the furry one heard that among vampires, size meant nothing. And the golden eyes shining, locked at the defenseless puppy…
The little one shut its eyes sensing the undead coming for it. The cub came seeking the end of his own misery; however, he was unable to move, even if he wanted to run.
Delicate cold hands lifted the fur ball that was shocked when he felt enveloped on a surprisingly warm embrace. Even if that body was cold, it was the kindest gesture ever directed to the cub, making he feel warm inside, and alive.
Especially when a joyous melodic voice praised:
"Kawaii aru!"
The fluffy scene lasted only a few seconds... until the vampire felt something unexpected and soft rhythmically tapping his body. He hesitantly stopped the caress to analyze the fur wall and shouted, shocked:
"AIYA! SINCE WHEN PANDAS WAG TAILS ARU?!"

He stormed away mumbling in Chinese and something about his boss… Maybe I should change my tactics…
But he looked so adorable when blushing…
