He broke the kiss and looked behind the younger. His eyes widened and he whispered to the other, "run."
"But-"
"Don't question it. Don't look back. Just go." Nile looked up at Kyouya and into his deep blue eyes. He nodded and did as he said. He ran. Despite the noises, fists hitting jaws, gasps of pain, he kept going. He stopped only after he reached the top of the hill when he heard screams and moans of agony escape Kyouya's lips. He stood in terror as the older's lifeless body fell limp at the feet of the shadowed man. He stood and watched as the blood soaked through his sleeveless black coat.
Tears rimmed his beautiful bright green eyes and slid down his cheeks. He screamed bloody murder and collapsed to the ground. He looked out at the setting sun and subbed. Kyouya had dies protecting him. He waited until he could no longer see the shadowed man. Then he ran back down the hill calling Kyouya's name. He sunk down on his knees next to the lifeless body and ran his fingers lightly over the many non-fatal wounds caused by the bloody switchblade lying near them.
Soon, the area around Kyouya's body had become a large red stain. A stain that Nile would remember forever. One that was not only full of Kyouya's blood, but one that was full of his guilt and sorrow. One that reminded him of his lover's blue eyes. The ones he could look into and see a past full of pain and suffering but at the same time could see a present full of determinate compassion for the on the loved. For one of the few things he held dear. He reached into Kyouya's belt and took Leone from it. He clenched it in his hand so tightly that his palm began to seep with blood that soon became a steady flow down his arm. He let himself go to sorrow and cried while holding on to Kyouya's body and bey for dear life. He did not care that the blood was staining him too. He did not care about anything else in the world at the time. All he cared about was the fact that this boy he was clutching so tightly to was no longer going to kiss him He wasn't going to hug him. Or fall asleep with him.
His first love and kiss. The only person who truly loved and cared. Gone, forever. "I love you, Kyouya." He sobbed. He hoped that all he'd witnessed tonight was not real. But an image of his imagination. "I love you…" He said again, hoping to hear Kyouya's familiar line, "Love ha too, kid," and to feel his arm wrap around his waist and draw him closer. However, none of that happened. He heard and felt nothing. He opened his eyes and wiped the tears from his face with his blood soaked hand and looked at Kyouya's face. His eyes closed in a peaceful sleep and his mouth slightly open. He pressed his fingers to Kyouya's still warm lips. He kissed him lightly and hoped and prayed that it was all a figment of his imagination. Tears escaped his closed eyes as he lay by the boy's body. He ran his fingers through his soft dark green hair and knew that within only a few days that this body would be six feet under and he'd never see him smile or hear him talk again.
This killed him on the inside. It made him wish that he hadn't run after all. That he had been killed instead. Kyouya had enough willpower to keep moving, but Nile did not.
He was pulled off the older's body and began thrashing and screaming and sobbing. He was pulled into a warm embrace by Gingka. He sobbed into the red-head's chest and knew that he wasn't the only one crying. Ryo laid a hand on his shoulder. "Nile," He said. "I understand how you feel."
"NO!" Nile screamed. "No you don't! No one does! And never will!"
