Talking to the Moon
Sarah Jane would stare at the night sky when she has the chance. It gave her a time to think of her past and sort out her memories. Sometimes she'd even start talking to the moon. She'd imagine back to her wonderful and adventurous past and wish that she was back there and she was talking to The Doctor or back to the time when she had Peter Dalton
Luke and Sky were hidden from Sarah Jane's view by the attic door, on the landing, in the shadows.
"What is mum doing?" Sky asked with a confused face on her.
"She's re-living her memories in her mind and is also trying to talk to them." Luke answered with a whisper.
"Is this normal?"
"Yes, mum talks to the moon every full moon and tries to talk to Peter every new moon. She ends up talking to them approximately twice a month."
"Is that good or bad? Who's Peter? What's a full moon? What's a new moon?"
"To be honest Sky, I don't know if it's good or bad. Peter Dalton was the man mum was gonna marry before she found out that he was in an Agreement with the Trickster. A full moon is where the moon is seen as a full circle, and a new moon is where you cannot physically see the moon as it is being covered by the Earth's shadow."
"Who's the Trickster? What was the agreement?"
"The Trickster is a member of the Pantheon Of Discourse, and the Agreement is when someone is bargaining their life to help ruin Earth. It's a horrible agreement and mum lost the people she loved most to him."
"Who was the people she love most? I thought that we were?"
"Ssshhhh, we don't want mum to hear us! Or she'll find out that we've been spying on her and yell at us!" They started to hear soft pattering on the ground. But then it stopped.
"Phew! I thought that she was gonna open the door on us and send us off to bed! What happened last time you spied on her?"
"Well it's a long story so I think that I should tell you it when you go to your room and snuggle up in your bed. OK?"
"OK! See you in a bit!... And Luke, hurry before I fall asleep!"
"I promise to be there in 5 minutes!" A sudden creaking sounded from behind them and Sarah Jane popped out from behind the door.
"Luke! Sky! I thought I told you two to go to bed! Why are you still awake?" Sky decided to put on the innocent face and reached up towards her mother's face. She pecked her mum's left cheek and whispered
"I'm only up because I didn't get to say goodnight to you. Goodnight!" Then she bounded down the stairs and into her room.
"I remember when you were her age, so young, so innocent. Now what's your excuse? Hmm?"
"The same as hers? Fine, I caught her coming up so I followed her." Suddenly a lightbulb smashed and a sudden screaming came from underneath them.
"LUKE! THERE'S SOMETHING CRAWLING ON THE WALL!"
"I better go help her, and tell her a bedtime story. Goodnight mum." He lightly pecked his mother's cheek and headed towards a screaming Sky.
