Kirie Koganezawa looked up, confused. He put on a genial smile with half-closed eyes as he turned to the person who had disturbed him from his rest on the park bench.
Actually, make that people.
There was a group of girls, all with identical cutesy smiles on their faces.
'Want to hang out with us?'
One of the girls had a loose button on their jacket. It made Kirie want to gag.
...And their hair were messy. And what was with those eyebrows?
Kirie stood up, fully intent on attacking them so they would look neat, when a loud voice from behind him startled him.
'What the fuck are you doing? He doesn't want to hang out with you!'
A very familiar voice.
'Hatsune!' Kirie immediately rebuked, forgetting for a moment the travesties that were the appearances of the girls, who looked positively offended. 'We're in public!'
Hatsune Sugina paid him no mind, instead marching straight up to the girls with a murderous expression.
'Go molest somebody else!' Hatsune continued her tirade, hands in rather menacing fists.
The group immediately backed away, with one of them muttering, 'What the hell is wrong with her?'
'Hatsune, that wasn't really polite,' Kirie said, frowning. He sat back down on the bench.
'They were going to rape you in same dark alley!' Hatsune shouted, ignoring the fact that they were in a public park in which little, impressionable children were playing and easily scandalised old women were walking. 'And you're gay! Why would you want to hang out with them anyway?'
Kirie really didn't believe that the girls had been planning on raping him in an alleyway, but smiled obligingly for Hatsune anyhow, not bothering to correct her about his sexuality.
After all, he'd rather spend more time with Hatsune anyway.
