Hey everyone, I just finished rereading the original version of Peter Pan. I love the story of Peter Pan, but I'd still like to make some changes and make my own version:
Preface
Wendy Angela Darling is a typical twelve year old girl of our time, well for the most part.
Unlike most preteen girls, she didn't care at all about fashion, gossip, dating and being popular. She also lived with her best friend, Alice, and her family instead of her own. She had grown tired of her parents pushing her to what they wanted her to be, what their idea of a daughter to be proud of was. To help her maintain her sanity, before she moved in with Alice and her family, she would spend as much time as she could at their home. But, sadly, it wasn't enough.
One evening a few months ago, poor Wendy had lost the small sliver for her parents that she had held onto all these years, and finally spoke her mind.
"Mother, I'm not you're little Barbie doll that you can dress up and tweak whenever it pleases you! I am a human being with feelings and an opinion! You and father have been trying to tailor me into what you want me to be since I was born, and I'm tired of it! You've never even considered what I want, you've been too busy choosing what I'm to wear and do." Wendy huffed with her arms crossed.
After her little outburst, Mrs. Darling was astounded that her 'perfect' little daughter would do such a thing as yell at her about how she had treated her wrong. In Mrs. Darlings mind, she had been a saint to Wendy all her life.
"How dare you speak to me in that manor! I've been nothing but wonderful too you and I've always asked your opinion. If you are going to behave so ungrateful, you should just leave!" Mrs. Darling shouted with crossed arms.
Fed up with her family, Wendy took up her mother's request, and moved in with Alice.
Wendy is a well educated girl, and is very intelligent for her age. She, unlike most of the girls at her school doesn't dote on silly things like fairies and mermaids, in fact, she never believed in such things, even as a young child. But, little did she know, they were as real as you and me, and she'd be whisked away by the famous Peter Pan later this evening.
Alright, I hope you enjoyed, I'll be updating soon. Please review, add me to your favorites, and take a look at my other stories! Thanks for reading!
