NEW AUTHORS NOTE: THIS TAKES PLACE SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE (CITY OF BONES) VAMPIRE NEST AND THEM FINDING OUT THEY'RE RELATED ( WHICH THEY ARE NOT SO YEAH)

After everything they've been through in the past few weeks all she wanted was for Jace to ask her to her Homecoming dance. Finally, resigned to admit defeat, Clary goes with Simon, fresh from his break-up with Isabelle.
When they arrive at the dance they both just stood against the wall. During a fast song Clary convinces Simon to go out on the dance floor with her. They dance slowly, as if they were moving through molasses. After this song Clary turns around deciding leaving was better than bringing down everyone else's good moods. Clary's hand settles on the cool handle of the gymnasiums door. Just as she begins to turn it she hears microphone feedback, and whips around. Standing on stage was Jace with a guitar and a nervous look. Clary smiles to herself at the nervous look; finally, she thinks, something he actually is scared of. Jace clears his throat self consciously and address the gym, "This song goes out to a very special girl, Clary Fray." A hundred eyes flew towards her, her hand still on the door handle. Surprise evident on her face. Jace smiles slightly, and starts to sing to Clary.
Prison gates won't open up for me
On these hands and knees I'm crawlin'
Oh, I reach for you
Well I'm terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can't hold my soul in
All I need is you
Come please I'm callin'
And all I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'
Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me
Heaven's gates won't open up for me
With these broken wings I'm fallin'
And all I see is you
These city walls ain't got no love for me
I'm on the ledge of the eighteenth story
And all I scream for you
Come please I'm callin'
And all I need from you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'
Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me
Hurry I'm fallin'
And all I need is you
Come please I'm callin'
And all I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin', I'm fallin'
Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me
Hurry I'm fallin'
Say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me
She was frozen in a trance, but as those last few lyrics left Jace's lips she unfroze. She had tears flowing down her cheeks. She wiped the tears away and ran to the stage and to Jace. As he finished the last word she flung herself at him, and, in one swift movement, he moved the guitar to his back and enveloped Clary in a hug. Their lips found each other, all others forgotten. Clary pulls away, and whispers, "I love you Jace Wayland." To which is response was, "I love you Clarissa Fray."
