Summary: Natsuki finally gets the one thing she's always wanted.
Natsuki screamed as she pushed, pain racking her body with every breath. "Masumi, make it stop!" she cried, sobbing.
"Just one more big push, Natsuki, and then it will be all over, okay?" The doctor instructed calmly as he knelt between her split legs. "Can you do that?"
"You're doing great, Natsuki." Masumi said as he sat by his wife's side, holding her hand and helping her do her Lamaze breathing.
"It hurts!" She wailed, slumping against the bed, whimpering.
"But it's almost over." Masumi said. "All you need is one more big push. Can you do that, darling?"
She nodded weakly. "Natsuki can." She sat up a little straighter.
"All right, Natsuki, one my count…one…two…three…PUSH!"
Natsuki pushed as hard as she could, screaming and then, just as her strength gave out, a small cry split the air.
"Oh!" Natsuki slumped against the bed.
"It's a girl!" The doctor announced, holding up a small, bloody, crying human being for Natsuki and Masumi to see.
Natsuki smiled. "Natsuki has a girl!" she cried as Masumi kissed her forehead.
"I'm so proud of you." Masumi murmured as the doctor handed the tired and sweaty Natsuki a small bundle wrapped in a perfect yellow blanket.
"Here she is." The doctor said. "Congratulations, Natsuki. You did a wonderful job. She's absolutely perfect."
Natsuki smiled and wept tears of joy. "Oh, Masumi, look…it's our little girl."
"She's beautiful." Masumi murmured. "What do you want to name her?"
Natsuki smiled and kissed her daughters forehead before looking into her husband's eyes. "Belle." She announced. "Like the Disney princess."
"Belle Inou." Masumi murmured. The name sounded pretty. "I like that name. Belle Inou it is."
"Natsuki is very happy today, Masumi." Natsuki murmured as she fed Belle. "She is happy because she finally has what she's always wanted."
"What is that, Natsuki?" Masumi asked, his eyes straying to the engagement and wedding rings she wore on her left hand and then to his own wedding band. His wife, even though she had just given birth, was more beautiful to him than ever.
"Natsuki has a family." She murmured, burping the small infant before cradling her in her arms. "After all this time, Natsuki finally has a family."
