The megaphones rang out around the square, projecting the sounds of the police cries. "Please disperse, I repeat, please disperse. You are unauthorized to protest here. Those who do not disperse will be arrested." Arthur rolled his eyes, climbing onto his motorcycle. He wasn't participating in the protest, and as a matter of fact, he had no clue what they were even protesting. These people weren't very good at getting their point across. No matter, as soon as people started getting arrested everyone would leave and be free to go about their daily lives.

He revved the vehicle and almost started moving when he felt a sudden weight on the back of the bike. A pair of arms wrapped around him and a female voice screeched in his ear. "DRIVE! GO GO GO!"

He turned his head to see who the mysterious woman was. "What?! Why?"

The voice screamed again, "DON'T ASK! JUST DDRRRIIIIIIIVVEEE!" Arthur panicked and sped off down the street, incredibly confused and a tad frightened. The woman laughed and cheered, leaning back and screaming to the policemen, "CAN'T CATCH ME!" What the hell was she doing? Arthur drove for a while longer before realizing: a) She was running from the police and b) he was aiding in her escape, which was a crime. He quickly pulled into an alley to the side of the road and got off the bike, followed by the mysterious woman.

"What the hell?! You can't just get on the back of some stranger's motorcycle and tell them to drive!" He could feel his eye twitching as he scolded her.

The blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman laughed, "I just did! And we're not strangers."

"I know you?" he questioned. He knew her? Well, now that he really looked her over she seemed familiar, but he couldn't tell from where.

She nodded and held out her hand. "Amelia Jones, at your service. And you're Arthur Kirkland. We went to school together, remember? I was your lab partner in senior year."

Ah yes, Amelia Jones, the bane of his high school existence. He hesitantly shook her hand. "Oh. Now I remember. You caused a fire in the lab and got suspended. I had to do our semester project by myself." She laughed, nodding her head.

"I'm surprised you remember all of that, Eyebrows." She grinned.

His eye twitched again as he suddenly remembered how dislikeable Amelia was. "Nobody calls me that anymore. And that's beside the point! Why are you running from the police?!"

She gave him a 'duh' look. "Why was anyone in the square running? I was in the protest and they were going to arrest me! That and I may have accidentally hit a police officer."

Arthur scoffed. "Typical Jones behavior. What were you even protesting? I couldn't tell."

Amelia grinned. "I couldn't tell either! I just saw a bunch of people yelling and it looked fun, so I joined in!"

Arthur was dumbfounded. She nearly got arrested because it looked fun? She was even crazier than he remembered, and that was really saying something! "You're insane! You shou-" Just then they heard police sirens in the distance. The two looked at each other, Arthur with an expression of stubbornness and Amelia with one of pleading. Without a word they climbed back onto the bike and zoomed off again.

It took Arthur a while to realize he actually had no idea where he was going. Amelia seemed content and didn't give him any directions, so he made an executive decision. They were going somewhere the cops would never look. His apartment.

A/N: Hey, two uploads in 24 hours! Not that this one counts for much. Yeah, this is one of my shorter fast-paced ones. I'm thinking about continuing it, but I don't really have plans sooo…

Anyway, enjoy, follow, favorite, review, and the like! Feel free to check out my other work as well. Check my profile for the 'special event' I'm doing. (Which is really not all that special.) Thanks for reading!
