Man, I really really need to get laid.

Crap, did he hear that?

He tried not to, but he couldn't stop himself from laughing.

"Hey," she said, "It was a private thought. You're supposed to be blocking those."'

"Sorry, Aud, but you were projecting that all over the place. I couldn't help but hear."

She mumbles under her breath, and goes back to her reading.

It could be worse Audrey. He could have heard you saying you want to have sex with him.

Damn did he hear that? Don't project Audrey! Don't project!

"You think about having sex with me?"

"PARKMAN!"

"What, it's not my fault. YOU thought it."

"Well, you could be a gentleman and pretend you didn't."

"But I did. And since I haven't had sex in forever either I think I'll enjoy the ego boost."

Asshole

"I heard that too."

"Good, you were supposed to."

"So," he wiggles his eyebrows, "You wanna?"

"You're an idiot."

"Come on, Aud, you're horny, and I'm horny. It's not like it would have to mean

anything."

No, I'd just want it to mean something.

Their eyes meet a second after she thinks it and she jumps up suddenly and

bolts from the room.

"Audrey," he calls after her.

She goes straight to her room and slams the lock home before he gets close,

"Audrey," he calls through the door, "Audrey, come on, come out and talk to me."

"Parkman, just go away."

"Not until you come out."

"Matt," she says and it stops him for a moment because it was so unusual for her to actually call him by his first name, "Please, just….just go."

He sighs, starts to turn, but then stops, "Audrey, it….I was just kidding about us sleeping together, because I never thought you'd actually do it or really want to.

But, if we did, I'd….I'd want it to mean something too. It would mean something, Audrey. It's you, how could it not mean something?"

He turns to leave again, but hears the door creak open. He sees first one then two brown eyes look out at him.

He smiles and moves back toward the door. The door opens the rest of the way as the reach for each other. Their lips meet somewhere in the middle, neither of them able to get close enough.

They finally break away for air and Matt leans his forehead against hers, smiling at her. She smiles back, but then her face turns dead serious.

"The next time you read my thoughts you're dead, Parkman."
