The murmur went through Krew's posthumously chosen racers…
Have you heard? Rayn only just found out that Jak was responsible for Krew's death…
Really?
Poor girl…
Ashelin, though, was not nearly so sympathetic.
She definitely didn't trust the girl. Ashelin may have been a little – well, a lot – biased, since the woman was Krew's daughter, but it went deeper than that. She hadn't trusted Rayn since day one, and she wasn't going to start now. Besides, the whole revelation seemed quite… convenient for Rayn.
Perhaps a little too convenient. Too good to be true, even.
So, Ashelin had decided that it was high time she had a good discussion with her, which was why she was looking for her. She stomped through the hallway, opened the door to the conference room and stepped inside.
Rayn looked up from Krew's various documents. "Ah… hello, Ashelin."
"Hello."
Upon hearing the baroness's tone of voice, Rayn frowned. "Is there a problem?"
"You already knew that Jak killed your father, didn't you."
It wasn't a question, and they both knew it.
Rayn smirked a little. Time to up the ante a little. "Well? What of it?"
"You're more than just a pawn in Krew's game, aren't you? You're just playing the part of innocent, unaware daughter for everybody else."
"Of course I am. There's no point in playing the accomplice, is there?"
Ashelin's lip curled in disgust. "You're as bad as your father."
Rayn's hand suddenly shot out and grabbed Ashelin's collar, pulling her in close. Ashelin jerked with surprise. As close as she now was, she could feel the other woman's hot breath on her face…
She hissed, "But you're just as much of a daddy's girl as I am, aren't you?" Ashelin wanted to pull away or hit her or something, but her body had frozen up. Her heartbeat pounded a tattoo against her eardrum, her pulse quickening. She was fully expecting to be thrown across the room, so it really threw her off balance when Rayn leaned up further and kissed her on the lips.
She let go of Ashelin's collar and walked towards the door. As she exited, she called out behind her shoulder, "Don't tell anyone, all right? There's a good girl."
Ashelin stayed still for a few seconds, continuing to breathe hard. After a while, her fingers came up to touch her lips, and her legs buckled under her from the shock. She stayed there until Torn found her about half an hour later. When he asked her if she was all right, she screamed to nobody in particular, "That bitch!"
Torn gave her a confused look. She shook her head and pressed her palm to her face. "It's nothing. I think I'm a bit unwell."
C'mon, people, we needz more yuri on this fandom, and more original pairs too. Sure, JaKeira, TessDax and TornAshelin are good but would it kill ya's to be a bit original?
