Note: Based on the song from the Disney movie Hercules, "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)". Sung my Megara? It's a really cheesy story, admittedly.

I Wont Say (I'm In Love) - A Sammy Keyes story

By xxCammyLoverxx

"So, what do you think?" Marissa leaned is as she walked to class with me.

"Think of what?" I asked, not really paying too much attention.

"Think of Casey, you know. He's trying to reach out to you, and you're so dense."

I turned to face my best friend. "Marissa. Listen up. We. Broke Up. A Long. Time. Ago. I'm not going to get back with him. It's over! It's been over!"

"He doesn't feel that way." her eyes were on fire. "You're so in-denial. Everyone knows how you two feel about each other. Santa Martina is a small town, and you are the world's biggest idiot. Everyone can see right through you."

I glared at her. "What are you talking about? All I'm saying is I don't care what he feels. It's not gonna happen. No chance, no way."

"Then you're an idiot." she said, and snapped her head away. Her hair whipped me in the face as she stormed away.

After school I ran into him.

"Sammy." he smiled. I realized I haven't spoken to him since freshman year. Now I was a junior. Why had it been so long? Time really flies.

"I can't talk." I said, my face flushing.

"What's wrong with you?" he asked, his hand on my shoulder. "Why do you keep running away whenever you see me?"

Or think of you. I thought. Who do you think you're kidding? He means too much to you.

Marissa voice rang in my head, "Everyone can see right through you."

I can't conceal it. They all know how I feel and who I'm thinking of.

I turned around and walked away before he could say anything else.

No chance. No way. I won't say it.

UGH.

I needed to stop thinking these thoughts.

On the way home, Billy Pratt, an old-time friend caught up beside me. "Hey!" he smiled. "Where's Casey?"

"WHAT?"

"I thought you finally told him how you really felt." he faced me, his face confused. "Wait, you didn't'?"

"And how do I feel about him?" I asked. "How do you know this and I don't?"

He shrugged. "It's obvious, Sammy. You swoon, you sigh. Why deny it?"

UGH.

"Leave me alone!" I snapped, and stormed off the opposite way.

It's too cliche. I won't say I'm in love.

I tried to think about why I was being so in-denial, anyway.

I thought my heart had learned it's lesson. My head is screaming "get a grip".

Suddenly I saw him.

Again.

Walking across the street. He saw me, and waved. Smiled.

Why are you doing this to me? I don't WANT to think of you! Remember why we broke up? It wouldn't work.

I pictured Marissa's face in my mind saying, We're not buying any of your crap, Sammy. We know how you hit the ceiling every time you think of him.

STOP!

Holly walked by, looking like she was in a hurry.

"Hey, Sammy! I gotta run some errands, but I heard about you and Casey! Congrats." she grinned, and ran off.

She heard about us?

What about us? We got back together?

But we DIDN'T.

"YOU'RE WAY OFF BASE!" I yelled across to her as she ran off. She couldn't hear me, but I murmured to myself. "There's no chance, no way, that I'll say it."

No way I'll say what? My head said.

Casey was still across the street, stopped, watching me. Probably because I had stopped, too.

Give up, give in. You're in love.

No, I'm not.

No way, I won't say it.

He started walking towards me across the street.

I made my way towards him too, and he held his arms out. I found myself in his hold, my head resting on his shoulder.

At least out loud, I won't say I'm in love.
