On a warm day in spring, when the sun was shining down upon a very small town, children played in the meadows. There was one child however who was kept inside hidden from the world outside. Each night she would dream of someday going out and playing with the other kids, but her parents would not let her. Every time she asked, they would tell her that she wasn't safe out there and that people would try to take her away. The young girl's name was Amu Hinamori, and she was not a normal human, after all she had large white wings on her back. Even still, she was not so convinced by her parent's warnings. I don't think anyone would kidnap a girl for having wings Amu thought to herself. One night, while her parents were sleeping soundly in their bed, Amu snuck out to see the stars. This was the first time she disobeyed her parents and was feeling guilty until a light breeze swept across her skin. It feels so refreshing she thought as she looked up at the stars lighting the night sky. To her this was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, and she spread out her hands letting the wind push her as she ran up onto a hill. Forgetting her parents words almost immediately let her wings spread out and glided up the hill, but not as smoothly as she would have liked and fell on her face. "Oh… that hurt", she said, not realizing that there was someone underneath her. When she opened her eyes, instead of the ground, her eyes met a pair of blue eyes. A little dazed, Amu just stared at them for a few seconds until the owner of those very eyes said, "Are you okay?" Shocked, Amu got up too fast and while she said "I'm so sorry!" she fell backwards and closed her eyes to brace herself, but this time she did hit the ground. Amu opened her eyes again and realized that she had been caught. "Thank you" she said while getting a better look at who it was. He was a boy with blue hair and blue eyes. As she was staring at him, she saw that his eyes were looking behind her, only then did she remember she had wings. She jumped out of his grasp and tried to hide her wings behind her. "Are you an angel?" he asked after a while. "I-I don't really know." Amu replied looking at the ground. All she could think was, my parents were right, I should have listened and stayed home… Tears began welling up in her golden eyes until the boy spoke again "That's pretty cool!" Amu looked back up at him and he continued "If you have wings, then that means you can fly doesn't it?" the boy was smiling at her now, and Amu started to smile too. "I'm Ikuto" he said, holding his hand out to her "I'm Amu" she responded, taking his hand. That night the two of them talked like they had known each other forever, but neither of them would remember.
