Preface

A girl awoke on a bed of flowers that somehow grew from a small tree. Her appearance suggests that she is high school age. Her brown eyes flashed open. Looking down at her was a purple eyed woman with blue hair in a braid. "Good morning, Mosa. Welcome to purgatory. You are an arbiter, a dummy who judges the souls of the dead. I am Nona, the head arbiter. Starting today you will be working with another arbiter until you have enough experience to run your own bar. I will introduce you to him. Follow me."

Mosa followed Nona to an elevator. In the elevator was a smiling man with very colorful hair that made Mosa's brown hair seem dull. "Which floor, ladies?" he asked.

Nona nodded curtly at him. "Viginti. Clavis, this is Mosa, a newly created arbiter. She will assist Ginti until she is experienced enough to run her own bar. Mosa, this is Clavis. He works the elevator and is my personal valet."

Clavis smirked. "Nice to meet you. Judging on your looks, Ginti will just adore you!" he said jokingly. Mosa scoffed. "Whatever."

When they reach Viginti, Nona leads Mosa too the counter where a stunned man with red hair and yellow eyed stood behind. "Mayu! I thought I sent you to the void!"

Nona sighed. "Calm down, Ginti. This is Mosa. A newly created arbiter. We are created from the mannequins that once housed human souls that were sent to the viod. She was simply made from the same dummy Mayu's soul was once housed in. She is not Mayu. Oculus wants a new, yet experienced arbiter without human emotions to train her. That's why you were chosen. I know you are not a people person, but at least try to get along with Mosa. Have her simply observe how you judge your next guests. After this time, you will actively train her and she will act as an assistant arbiter." With that Nona walked away.

Mosa walked up to Ginti. "It's nice to meet you." Ginti was not in the mood for small talk. "Let's just get to it, Ma… I mean Mosa. First the rules of Arbiters. One, Arbiters cannot quit making judgments, for that is the reason why we exist. Two, Arbiters cannot experience death, for that would bring us too close to being human. Three, Arbiters cannot feel emotion, for we are dummies. Four, Arbiters may not work hand in hand with life, for that will ruin us. Got it? Good. For now just relax. If you want booze, just ask. I can share. Nona will be here soon before the humans arrive. She'll watch with you and explain what I am doing. Got it, good. Also, no touching the dolls on the bar table."

With Ginti done with his speech, Mosa sat at the bar. "Give me your best drink. I don't really care." Ginti smirked and began fixing a Memento Mori.

Before too long. Nona returned. "Guests will arrive shortly. I will take you to the viewing area. It's just behind the bar." Nona led Mosa to the viewing area and they took a seat. It was then that the guests arrived. She then began explaining the games to Mosa. "We have to pry the darkness out of their souls. That is the purpose of the game. Memories are not enough to judge. We need actions. You see, the information bureau compiles the memories of the dead and sends them to the Arbiter who judges them. You will not be getting memories this time, but from the guests after this pair until you finish training, you will get the same memories as Ginti. After you finish training, you'll be on your own. So pay attention to what Ginti does." Mosa nodded as the humans entered Viginti. This was going to be interesting.
