Pan was quietly walking through one of the school corridors when her path was suddenly blocked by three girls from the year above her.
"So, you're the tomboy that keeps hanging around with our boys." The fairly pretty blonde said snickering and looking down her nose at Pan.
Feeling really confused "What are you talking about?" Pan looked between the three of them feeling that nothing good was going to come of this encounter.
"Trunks is mine, got it." The blonde advanced on her until Pan had her back pressed against a nearby locker.
"Trunks is just a mate." Pan whispered a little worried and still confused about what was going on.
The blonde snickered again. "Oh that's right... You don't have any female friends."
Anger starting to replace her fear Pan frowned up at her "I do too!" she yelled back at the blonde.
"What, imaginary ones?" The other girls behind the blonde laughed. "You should've been a boy. There's no way you even resemble a girl."
Pan clenched her mouth shut not really knowing what to do in the situation. She had heard of people like these girls from Bra and Marron but had never thought she'd have to deal with them.
"I shouldn't be worried about you with my Trunks, after all he'd never go for a girl like you." The blonde scrunched up her nose as she looked Pan up and down in disgust she then turned on her heels and walked the few steps back to where her friends were standing "Oh, if you see him tell him Chrissie misses him." She said as she walked around a corner with her friends.
'What the hell was with that?' Pan thought to herself as she continued walking to her next class. Little did she know that this was just the beginning of what would be a nightmare, by the time the last bell of the day had rung all of the popular girls throughout her school were calling her 'the guy girl' or 'TP' (Tomboy Pan).
'I'm not just about to stop hanging around with my friends just because of some stupid girls.' Pan thought as she stormed home, on the verge of crying. 'I can get through this.' She continued to pep talk herself as she stormed inside her house and up the stairs to her room. The moment she was safely locked away in her room and away from public view, she fell onto her bed and burst into tears.
"Why me!?" Pan wailed, "I didn't want this! What did i do?"
Two weeks later
The torments of the girls from school were still continuing they had even gotten worse, or so it felt like it to Pan and now she had started to do her homework in the library at lunch times so she wouldn't be seen anywhere with Trunks, Uubu or even her Uncle Goten.
It was now a Friday afternoon and Goten had decided to go around to his brother's place to visit Pan, after all she hadn't made an appearance in their usual hangout spot at all that week so he hadn't seen her since the last weekend.
Videl let him in and he made his way up to Pan's room, he was about to burst through her door and make lots of noise just to annoy her but stopped. Was that… was Pan crying? Goten stood there and listened for a little longer, yes Pan was definitely crying… but why?
Goten decided it was probably best to knock on her door rather then burst in, after all if he burst in she may not tell him anything where if he doesn't annoy her, she might.
Knock, knock.
"Panny are you decent?" he called out in a sing-song voice, trying to make it seem like he had just arrived and hadn't been listening to her cry.
Goten heard her gasp "NO!" she yelled. He could then hear her fumbling around and what he thought was the sound of her blowing her nose.
"Hurry up, I'm getting bored out here", he whined. Well it was true.
"You're such a pain Uncle G." Pan grumbled as she opened her door for him, she kept her head down, her fringe hiding her eyes she wouldn't look up at him at all. "What can I do for you?" She asked trying to sound as normal as possible. She walked back into her room and sat down on her computer chair, picking up a book pretending she had been in the middle or reading and not looking at him.
Scratching the back of his head as he stepped into her room "Well, since you seem to have deserted our friendship for studying in the library" he noticed Pan flinch and decided to change tactic, not wanting her to push him away further. He walked over to her desk and leaned against it while casually picking up her maths textbook "Since the guys haven't seen you in a while they wanted me to ask a favour." He sheepishly grinned at her but she didn't look up at him.
"What is it?" She groaned, making Goten raise his eyebrows, this was the first time Pan hadn't been cheerful when they'd asked a favour of her.
"We have an English assignment that we can have to capture the typical life of an age group and we were hoping you'd help us out by filming us skate." Goten cautiously asked, really unsure what she'd say since she seemed like she was in a bad mood.
"Hell yeah I'm in!" Pan forgot why she was purposely keeping her head down and not looking up, when she did just that, grinning she stared right up into Goten's eyes. "You can count on me." She continued to grin and then felt worried by the way Goten's facial expression had changed and was now looking at her. "What's wrong?"
"Pan… you've been crying… what's wrong?" Goten had a slight frown creasing his forehead once he'd seen his niece's red puffy eyes.
"It's nothing you need to worry about." Pan immediately looked back at the ground and shut her mouth in a straight firm line.
Feeling a little upset that Pan wasn't confiding in him, Goten pushed the subject a bit further "Please tell me, I want to know if someone's hurt you!" But still Pan wouldn't look back up at him. "I'll kick their ass if they have." Goten determinedly said as he stepped closer to her and engulfed her in a big hug.
"I don't feel like talking about it." Pan's muffled reply came from his chest. "And no, I haven't been hurt." She adds looking up at him, as best she could in the position he was hugging her. 'Well not physically anyway… but he doesn't need to know that.'
Goten sighed in defeat knowing she was going to be stubborn on the matter, "Well, I'm here whenever you do feel like talking." He softly told her.
Pan smiled again. "Thank you Uncle G, please just don't tell Trunks or Uubu… I don't want them to know."
"Alright, you have my word." Goten let go of her and walked back towards her door. "Well i had better be going now!"
"Where are you going?" Pan questioned.
"That's all I came to ask, I've got to get home or mum's going to kill me." Goten turned and gave her a goofy smile. "I'll be back tomorrow morning to head to the skate park with you." He waved a goodbye and walked away.
'Well that was stupid Pan, now Goten knows something's up!' Pan mentally kicked herself at the thought of Goten trying to find out what's upset her.
"Pan! It's dinner time!" Videl yelled up the stairs.
"I'll be down there in a minute mum!" Pan yelled back, as she quickly walked over to her mirror to make sure her eyes still weren't puffy anymore; she didn't need her parents asking questions as well.
