Prologue: Toronto Grand Penitentiary (TGP)

The 20,000-acre prison property, which occupied over 30 square miles of land - notably larger than the prestigious city of Manhattan - was located within Ontario, Canada. The all-male maximum security prison was deemed one of the largest in North America, housing approximately 10,000 of the most notorious and dangerous criminals from all over the world. One could only imagine the amount of stress that the prisons chief Warden, Sesshoumaru Takahashi, was continuously under.

The prison housed criminals under 4 complexes. The Main Prison Complex held the majority of the inmates with either long-term or extended sentences. The Treatment Complex housed inmates who were mentally unstable, or, just a tad bit more unstable than those in the main complex.

When it got down to it, you didn't make it into TGP unless you were extremely fucked up in some way or another.

The Housing Complex was brightly colored, and held a home-like environment for families and friends who wanted to feel at ease and forget the fact that they were visiting inmates who more than likely shot, choked, burned, butchered, drugged, decapitated… I'm sure you get the point.

Currently, constable Takahashi agitatedly roamed the halls belonging to the Solitary Complex of the prison, briskly followed by four guards. Said four guards, who seemingly held strong, authoritative and ruthless appearances were in fact, scared shirtless. It wasn't only them, though. For a majority of the day, Sesshoumaru forced himself to omit from rolling his eyes, as officers, doctors, janitors, cooks and administrative staff all voiced their concerns about the release of a certain inmate.

He wanted to strangle every single last one of them. If he had the ability to deter the release of this certain inmate, he wouldn't currently be standing outside of this certain inmate's cell, while contemplating his past life choices that led him to even be involved in this predicament in the first place. Between balancing amongst the supervision of the prisons personnel, inmate work programs and adequate distribution of public funds, he was in charge of housing, feeding, clothing and providing healthcare, education, rehabilitation and re-entry programs for more than 10,000 inmates in a single facility. On top of that, he had to ensure the safety of every being, human or demon, that stepped foot onto the prison property, which proved to be difficult as more and more of his officers quit in fear of their lives. The large amount of rookie officers that were set to begin their jobs within the week brought no sense of relief, as they would still be thoroughly outnumbered by the inmates.

The release of inmate #994 back into the main complex was just icing on top of the cake.

Sesshoumaru bent down and slid open the tiny window of the cell, and was immediately greeted with a set of identical amber-colored eyes.

"I'd ask you not to make my life a living hell, as you'd never failed to do, but I'm sure that'd be asking for far too much", sneered Sesshoumaru, as he dangled the keys to open the door in his hand. He didn't need to see Inuyasha Takahashi's whole face to picture his lazy fanged smile.

"Missed ya' too, big bro."
