Amu's Pov
BANG! I groan and drag my feet out of the bed to check on the repeated noise outside of my window."This better not be a stupid bird," I grumble. I look out at the balcony, there stood Ikuto up at the stars."Beautiful night,"I comment. "Yeah." "Ikuto, when are you going?" "Tomorrow." "No let me rephrase that, where are you going?" "We've talked about this already. I want to explore the world, see new places and have exciting experiences. I'm finally free from my cage."
I look up ready to cry. "A-A-Are you going to miss me?" I choke out. He looks down at me "Of course I'll miss you."He smiles, before I knew it he was hugging me. "I love you," he whispers. "I love you too."Then he picks me up and carries me off to my bed. He gently puts me down. "Good night, Amu." "Ikuto...will you make me a promise?" "Sure, what's the promise?" "Make sure that you never change." "...Sure whatever you want."That's all I remember before I drifted off to sleep. Why couldn't you have waited for me to have new adventures..together?
Four Year Time Skip
Ack! The first day of school is always the worst day of school before a profession of other terrible days. "Sweetie, hurry up or else you're going to be late for school,"my mom calls out. Same old parents completely new Ami. Ami the "wonderful" 9 year old. Ami the now self obsessed, obnoxious bragger. Sigh.
Why does the world have to change? Not that I mind. I completely changed my style after "The Incident." I dyed my hair black, wear a tomboyish style, have a cold attitude towards everyone and became the captain of the boy's soccer team. Any ways I put on my school uniform and pulled up my black boots and went downstairs. There stood my mom waiting at the bottom of the stair holding my backpack. I took the pack out of her hand and left the house with a bagel in my hand.
When I arrived at school all the girls seemed to be crowding around something but I'm not the curious type so I didn't really care. "Hey, wait up!" That voice seems so familiar…no it can't be. "Ikuto," I mutter. Ikuto, he left me for an adventure. He left me to become famous. He became a world famous violinist. He left me to see the world. "How are you doing, Amu?" "Why are you here Ikuto?" "I missed my hometown and a little someone, is there a problem with that?"
"Yes actually, you broke a promise that you said you would keep." "Have you looked in the mirror lately you broke the promise too," "I only broke the promise because you did." Then I stormed off into the school building. Ikuto's words stung but not as much as what the girls around him said. "How does Amu even know who Ikuto is?" "Who knew that she even knows what's going on in the modern world" "Pathetic." Why did Ikuto have to come back into my life?
I arrived at my classroom to see Tadase surrounded by his fan group, Rima talking to the dim-witted cheerleaders, Kairi was reading books in the corner, and Yaya was organizing her homework. Oh, how things change. I walk to the back of the classroom and took a seat near the window.
Nikaido-sensei then walks into the classroom. After he married Yukari, He became the principal of the school but still teaches classes. "Students listen up, because the P.E teacher hurt his back, Kukai, the former soccer captain will be helping out," Nikaido said. "What Kukai? The soccer super star? One of my former friends or one of my future enemy?"
