Note from the Author: I've been having this weird obsession with Beck lately, so I just had to write something for it, and when I'm bored and in need of ideas, I usually end up writing a poem. Well, that's the routine lately anyway...I did my best to write this though I've only ever seen and talked to people who've performed. I'm not very musical myself, hehe, so I could never be in this sort of situation, but I tried to write from the perspective of the one who's actually musically talented. If any of you who read this are indeed musically talented, please tell me if I was even close to doing anything justice!
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Beck, no matter how much I may want to.
Without a word of warning
We're caught in the moment
In a single instant
Where the world of one hundred people
Turns to you
For five minutes
Five minutes
You may call it
Just a single melody
But to us- these bruises
These scars and these falls
All belong to a word
We call life
In a single five minutes
Five minutes
Where you need to move to breathe
And close your eyes to see
And feel the stress of lights
To know reality
In only five minutes
Five minutes
Walk down the empty city streets
We're taking the easy way in
To learn all there is to know
About the easy way out
The escape in five minutes
Five minutes
Standing on your throne
Looking down at your one hundred people
From a jump away
You've got five minutes
Five minutes
To take their breath away
