Disclaimer: If I owned them, they'd be in this perfect little world.

They're sitting in his car the first time you see them together. You're walking across the hospital parking lot to your own car and you weren't expecting to see them. You had just assumed that they'd both left when their patient had been cleared, like Chase and Foreman had. You stand there, stopped dead in your tracks, because you are definitely shocked to see this. You're his best friend and you know nothing about this and it's odd because he tells you everything. He would certainly brag to you about something like this.

You are still watching them. Her head is on his shoulder and you imagine that she must be really uncomfortable leaning over the gear shift that way. You can tell that he's slightly uncomfortable himself by the set of his shoulders but you are sure that has nothing to do with the gear shift. He's talking to her, you can see his jaw sliding across the top of her head, but you can't see either of their expressions. It is awkward for you to see them like this. You've never seen him this way with anyone. You'd never seen him this way with Stacy, although that was probably just because he wasn't a fan of public displays of affection, but this was still a shock.

You only observe them for a few more minutes, until Cameron turns her face and kisses him. And when he kisses her back, you start to walk away. This is not something you should have seen, something neither of them needs to know that you saw. This is their private moment and you shouldn't have intruded.

You climb into your car and head home. You can't stop thinking about what you saw. You knew that he would cave eventually, you just didn't know that it would happen like this. You could probably guess that this happened a while ago, exactly when, you can't really be sure, but it probably had something to do with him getting shot. A lot of things had changed since then. It was nice to know that this was one of them.

You park your car in the drive way and make your way inside. It doesn't surprise you that she's waiting for you. Sitting on the couch, her feet curled under her, she's reading something, Hemingway or Plath maybe, and there's a glass of wine on the coffee table. She looks up at you and smiles. She takes off her glasses and moves to stand up but you move toward her first. You sit beside her and when she curls up into your side. You smile to yourself and realize that this is what you've been waiting for. And it finally strikes you. House has Cameron. You have Lisa. And you've both got everything you could possibly ask for.
