Author's Note: Welcome readers! Tales of Cliffhangers contains various Tales of Symphonia stories that aren't quite... complete in a sense. This is were you'll find various ideas that I got, yet aren't quite sure whether or not I should truly write them as their own stand-alone stories. Stories may or may not be related to one another (and if they are, I might mention it). If there is, by chance, a story that you would like to see fleshed out, leave a review on the cliffhanger chapter and give a reason to why you want it as its own story (if there is enough, I might actually do it).

About reviews: Regarding on how I respond to reviews, I believe that it would be best that I address questions in general, but I will not (unlike my other stories) comment to each and every review. I will thank you however, since reviews are appreciated and deeply loved (and gives me motivation to write more).

Note: To anyone who had a chance to see the stories I wrote, you may have noticed that I actually changed Fade Out into Tales of Cliffhangers, seeing that I currently do not have the inspiration to write the story out no matter how interesting the plot may have turned out.

UPDATE 3/24/2016: It's been forever since I last revisted here, but the main change that will be taking place is in the story titles in case I feel like drabbling more in them.

Side: Cole

In this world or the next, what did it matter?

Breaths rasp as eyes dart in rapid succession. Shadows flickered as he pulled her forward with him, fear a never-ending wave that threatened to destroy everything. The darkness looms, the full moon overhead screams.

All he needed was her and his friends after all.

They were almost there - he could see the gentle flickers of magical light that bounced around towering stones. His hand in an iron grip with hers, they sprint, ignoring the cracks of lightning and the hisses of otherworldly anger.

Besides, there was nothing left here for them.

Only paces away was an ethereal shimmer: the portal. He could hear the snarls and barks that pierce the eerie silence - his pursuers. The duo were gasping for air, but they couldn't stop now, not when freedom was just beyond the boundaries of their world. Not when the others gave them this chance to get away.

Their world was in turmoil and war.

"Hurry!" He tugs her hand as the mana in the air swells - a spell was being cast. Maniacal laughter filled with ire booms. Tick. Tock. The hour hits midnight. The portal is closing. Spears are raining down in a flurry of silver.

There was nothing they could do.

They take the last few steps as their only means of escape shrinks. The light around them flares. Enemies screech with fury. Hope swells in the hearts drowned in despair. They would make it to a new world.

All hope was lost here.

Then she whispered "Goodbye."
