Disclamer : Reign belongs to its rightful creators and owners.
Summary : Crown prince or not, for Bash, he'd never be anything else than his loving little brother.
Author's note : English isn't my first language, it's French. If you spot any mistakes or weirdness, please feel free to notify me ! This is also a translation from a drabble I wrote three years ago.

Not a king but a brother
- Le roi est mort ! Vive le roi !
"The king is dead! Long live the king!"
These words resonanted in Sebastian's ears, best known as Bash, who was now the bastard son of the departed Henry II, king of France, from the house of Valois. His father was dead. Francis, his half-brother, was king. He saw him arriving from the other side of the gallery, his face painted with an indescribable emotion. He only had one wish: to hug him, to ease him, just like he did before, when the scared child came to him for comfort during storms. Even Catherine, who was so proud and hated so much what he represented: her husband's unfaithfulness, didn't say a word and let the heir to the throne join his illegitimate brother. His little brother... Non. He couldn't call him that way anu longer. His king.
From the other side, Francis, whose ears were beaten by this sentence who resonated throughout the entire castle, saw his brother arriving, running, out of breath, with a sorry and sad face. Their father was dead. He saw him start to bow to him, like the protocol wanted him to. That was out of the question! He was the new king of France but above all, he was his younger brother! His new status didn't change anything in their link, in their friendship! He ran to him and helped him back on his feet so he could embrace him, hug him tight. He was scared. He needed his big brother by his side. He would not let Bash believe he wasn't his equal anymore.
Crown or no crown, different mothers or not, they were brothers.
Nothing would change that.
Nothing and no one.
The End
