Hey guys, here's the first chapter of my RWBY x BATIM story I promised. Bendy and The Ink Machine is also one my favorite games, just because it's filled with such mystery. Hope you enjoy!

It all started on a cool, crisp Saturday afternoon. Beacon Academy was filled with students goofing around or doing their studies. Weiss Schnee, team RWBY's strategist was doing the second option. She and Yang Xiao Long were at the dorm, while their other two teammates, Ruby Rose, and Blake Belladonna, were out on an assignment with Team JNPR. While Weiss was studying for a test for Ooblek, Yang was listening to music on her scroll. But it was turned up so loud, it could be heard through her headphones. This made Weiss very annoyed.

"Yang, turn down that music!" she said, with a hint of bitterness in her voice. Yang paid no attention to her, and kept on jamming out. The Ice Queen got up from her desk seat, and smacked her partner on the back of the head, making the headphones she was wearing fall off.

"What the hell?!" Yang boomed, her eyes flaring.

"I am so sick and tired of you Yang Xiao Long!" Weiss scolded, "You're so disobedient, sloppy, and all around idiotic!"

"Well you're not perfect either!" Yang retaliated, getting out of her chair. "You're snobby, selfish, and cold!" The two girls growled at each other, and stared into each other's eyes. They've had scuffles here and there, but now they had both crossed the line with the name-calling. But just before they were about to pull their hair out, the intercom spoke their names.

"Will students Yang Xiao Long and Weiss Schnee report to the Headmaster's office please?"

The two stopped staring, and exited their dorm, walking down the hallway.

When they were at the office, Professor Ozpin, headmaster of Beacon, greeted them.

"Professor, would it be too much to ask you to get that blonde brute off my team?" Weiss asked.

"Oh my god, shut up!" Yang shouted.

"Now, now. No need for violence." Ozpin said, in a calm tone. "I know that working together with people you don't have good chemistry with is difficult, but that can be changed. Which is why I'm giving you two an assignment of your own while your other two teammates are away." The two girls looked at him, interested at what the assignment might be. "There have been strange occurrences in a studio in Vale," The headmaster continued, "and you two shall investigate."

"Understood." Weiss said, "Is there any need to bring out weapons?"

"I believe that there is no threat in the area you are investigating, so there is no need for your weapons on this mission." After they were briefed, the duo left the office, and went to get on a bullhead to Vale.

Once they touched-down in Vale, Yang and Weiss began to walk to the coordinates Ozpin gave them. Weiss was still angry with Yang, but decided to not let her anger distract her. Soon, they arrived at their destination, to find something unexpected. The studio they had been assigned to looked run down, like it hadn't been used in decades. The entrance looked old, with paint scratches and chips on the double front doors, and splotches of black on the brick walls. There were huge metal words with lightbulbs above the door, that spelt out the company that ran the studio.

"Joey Drew Studios"

"Oh no friggan way!" Yang shouted, causing Weiss to jump back.

"Why are you screaming you dunce!?" she snapped.

"I know this studio, they made the cartoons me and Ruby watched as kids! I am such a BIG fan!" Weiss rolled her eyes at the blonde's reaction.

"Let's just scope the area for clues, so this can be over with." she snootily said, and went over by the dumpsters.

"Well what a good idea!" Yang snapped back, and stomped away. The two looked around the outside of the studio, and kept on finding nothing. That is, until something caught Weiss's eye. It was a paper sheet, mashed into a small ball. She picked it up, and unfolded it, revealing it to be a note

"Yang, I think I found something." she called.

"Oh, really now, what is it?" Yang asked, with still some bitterness in her voice.

"Some type of note." The heiress replied. She then showed the crumpled-up piece of paper to her partner, and this is what it read.

"Dear Henry… It seems like a lifetime since we worked on cartoons together. 30 years really slips away, doesn't it? If you're back in town, come visit the old workshop. There's something I need to show you. Your best pal, Joey Drew."

The two huntresses starred at the note, and then back at the run-down studio in front of them. They both were thinking the exact same thing, why was this here?

"Who's Joey Drew?" Weiss asked out loud, knowing that Yang had watched the cartoons as a kid.

"Uh, I think he's the guy who made the cartoons, or something like that…" Yang replied.

"So, he's the owner of this studio?"

"Yeah, basically." Yang then went to open the entrance to the studio.

"What are you doing?!" Weiss scowled.

"Look, we aren't gonna find answer by just staring at this place." Yang stated, "We're gonna have to check out what's on the inside." Weiss wanted to say something to get her teammate to stop, but, she knew that she was right. They were sent here to find out what happened, and like it or not, they're were going to have to enter the studio.

So, she took a gulp, and stepped inside as Yang held the door for her. But little did they know, that this would not be a simple, "get in and get out" mission…

The inside of the studio was just as gloomy as the outside was. The first thing the girls saw when they walked into the hallway leading to the first room, were several posters that showed the various cartoons the studio has made, such as "The Dancing Demon", and, "Little Devil Darlin'". To Weiss, the names of the cartoons seemed a little, iffy, with both being centered around some demon as the main character, which didn't seem kid friendly to her. The two then walked into a large workroom, which had several desks, a vintage projector that was running, and three large film reels on the wall that had the studio's name on them. But what caught Weiss's eye the most, was a wooden cutout of a cartoon character. It appeared to be a small demon character, with a black body, a white face, two white gloves, black boots, and a white bowtie. The face of the character had two cartoony eyes that looked like a pie with a missing slice, and its mouth was shaped like a friendly grin.

"Who is this supposed to be?" Weiss asked.

"Oh, that's Bendy," Yang explained, "he's the star of the show. He was me and Ruby's favorite character." Wiess looked at the Bendy cutout one more time, and shivered slightly. "So, let's get to looking around this place." The ice queen agreed, and began to follow Yang. The two walked around the studio, and came across a small work desk with a rejected Bendy design on it. They then walked into a large work room, with several desks that were used to draw animations for the cartoons. "Whoa, how many people worked here?" Yang questioned.

"Yang, making cartoons isn't simple." Weiss deadpanned, "It is very tedious, so lots of people working here isn't unexpected." Yang just shrugged and continued to explore with Weiss. They soon found a guide sign which pointed out the way to get to certain rooms, one of which got both huntresses confused, it was called "Ink Machine". Neither of them knew what it meant, but they did get a hunch that it might be a possible clue as to what was going on here. So, they took a right, and began to walk towards the room. On the way, they saw an eerie sight. It was a disorganized part of the hall, that had a chair tipped over, and a strange black substance leaking from the ceiling. Weiss caught a droplet of the substance on her finger, and then placed it in her mouth, only to spit it out due to the revolting taste.

"What is it?" Yang asked as Weiss coughed and spat on the floor.

"It tastes like, ink." Weiss concluded. She then looked up, and saw large writing on the wall, written in the same inky substance.

"DREAMS COME TRUE"

Both Weiss and Yang were getting creeped out at this point, as they wondered who could've wrote this, and why. But they couldn't think of anything logical, so they had to move on. They continued to walk down the hallway, and saw a chart on the wall labeled, "Ink Output Schedule." It showed that whatever the Ink Machine was, produces 423 gallons, or 1,601 liters of ink per week. That was a huge number for the girls.

After walking down the hallway some more, they finally came across the Ink Machine room, or at least the balcony of it. The room was huge, with several barrels, pipes, and crates strewn about it. The far left of the room had some type of generator, and the center of it had a large black pit, which several chains led down into. Yang looked to her right, and saw a laver next to a generator with two empty battery slots.

"This baby's gonna need some dry cells." She said to herself, as she walked to the left side of the balcony. She found one battery in a chest, and another one on a shelf. She picked them both up, and carried them to the generator as Weiss looked on in confusion.

"What are you doing now?" she asked, annoyed.

"No idea," Yang replied, "but I think we can find something out by seeing what's below that." She pointed to the pit, and plugged the batteries in. "Ok, let's see what's down there." she said, pulling the lever. The sound of gears clanking and chains rattling filled the room, as the chains began to pull up whatever was below the surface. Yang and Weiss both looked over the guardrail, as the Ink Machine slowly emerged from the ground.

The machine itself looked extremely odd, it looked like a cube with various pipes, tubes, and gears on it. A large tube was in the front of it, and a large black barrel of ink was connected to the back of it. Underneath the machine, were several pipes that lead down into the pit. To both huntresses, the machine was, odd to say the least. Yang then placed her fingers below her chin, and began to think.

"Maybe we should turn this thing on, just so we know what it does." she deduced.

"Are you out of your mind?!" Weiss retorted. "We have no idea how a machine like this works, and judging by your attitude, you'll end up breaking it!" Yang just scowled.

"You know, you could try to be less negative!" she shouted, and stomped off. Weiss just rolled her eyes, and followed her. After the tensions cooled between them, they kept on walking around the studio, until they came across a narrow room. "What the heck is this thingy?" Yang asked, picking up what appeared to be an audio tape.

"Hm, looks like a vintage audio cassette player." Weiss said, "And it looks like there's a tape in it." The cassette player also had writing on it that said, "The Voice of Wally Franks." With curiosity controlling her, Yang pressed the play button on the player.

"At this point, I don't get what Joey's plan is for this company. The animations sure aren't being finished on time anymore, and I certainly don't see why we need this machine. It's noisy, it's messy, and who needs that much ink anyway? Also, get this, Joey had each of us donate something from our work stations. We put them on these little pedestals in the break room. To help appease the gods, Joey says. Keep things going. I think he's lost his mind, but, hey, he writes the checks. But I tell you what, if one more of these pipes burst, I'm out of here."

Wally spoke in a Brooklyn accent, which made the way he said, "I'm out of here", funny to Yang. But Weiss was just confused by some of the statements declared by the man, why did animations stop coming out on time? And for that matter, what "gods" was Joey trying to appease and why? It seemed like whenever she got a clue as to what was going on, the rug got pulled right from under her. After that dump of exposition, the two kept on walking, encountering a fork in the road. Suddenly, a plank of wood fell from the ceiling, landing on the ground with a thud. Weiss shrieked and backed off, while Yang looked at her reaction.

"Did you just scream like a little girl?" she asked humorously.

"No! Uhm, maybe. Can we talk about this later?" Weiss fumed. Yang just chuckled and took a right down the hall. She was soon in the breakroom, with an edgy Weiss right behind her. The breakroom didn't even look like a breakroom at all, instead, it looked like some kind of ritual room. Three pedestals lined the right and left walls, each with pictures behind them, depicting several different items. They included an inkwell, a gear, a book, a wrench, a record, and a plushie of Bendy. In front of the girls was a large switch, with a sign reading "Ink Machine" on it.

"Methinks that is the switch for the Ink Machine." Yang said. She then looked around at the pedestals, and came up with a theory. "Maybe if we find all these items, we can turn on the machine." Weiss was about to detest, but then thought about what Yang said earlier, that they could find out what was going on by turning on the machine. And since everything so far didn't make sense, she decided to just go with it.

"Ok," she sighed, "I suggest we split up, so we can find the items quickly." Yang nodded to that idea, and began to leave the breakroom, only to turn a corner, and scream. Weiss ran over to see what happened, and what she saw also gave her chills. A Bendy cutout was being supported by the plank of wood that fell from the ceiling, and was standing upright, staring at them with that happy smile.

"Who, the hell, put this here?!" Yang fumed, her teeth clenched. Weiss didn't know the answer to that, but what she did know, was that someone, or something was inside the studio with them. That was the only logical thing she could think of. She then peered behind the cutout, and saw something equally disturbing.

"Y-Yang…" she said, getting her partner's attention by tapping her on the shoulder, "WHAT IN THE MOTHER OF OUM IS THAT?!" She then pointed across the hall, into another room. Upon closer investigation of said room, it appeared to be an operating room, with tiled walls, and an operating table. But it was what was on the table that freaked the girls out. The figure strapped to the table looked like a black cartoonish wolf wearing white overalls, with the left strap of it being unbuckled. The chest of it had been cut into, and split apart, exposing a broken ribcage. The eyes of it had x's on them, indicating that the creature was dead.

"Oh my god, what was Joey doing here?" Yang wondered. She then looked to her right, and saw another message on the wall, written in ink.

"WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?"

Behind the table with the creature on it, Weiss could see another poster, that had a character similar to the wolf on the table on it. The poster said, "Bendy in Sheep Songs with Boris The Wolf." She then made the connection.

"Is this Boris the Wolf?" she asked.

"That's impossible…"

"Then please explain what this is?!" Yang just sighed, and looked down. She then noticed a wrench in the creature's chest cavity, and yanked it out.

"That's one down, 5 to go." she stated.

The girls explored many more rooms in the studio, finding an item in each. Some of the rooms included a closet with old projectors in it, a pub with a dartboard (Yang enjoyed it), and a small office with a radio in it. The radio actually did work, and played a catchy tune. After finding all the items, the two returned to the break room, and placed them on their respective pedestals.

"Ok, now we just need to get this ink flowing somehow." Yang said.

"I saw a lever that said "INK PRESSURE" in a theater nearby, we should go there." Weiss suggested. Yang nodded, and the two began to walk to it. They had just reached a hallway leading to the theater, when suddenly, a Bendy cutout peeked out from behind the corner. Both girls jumped back in shock, as the cutout went back behind the corner. At this point, Weiss was beginning to get scared, everything just didn't make sense in this place. Yang went around the corner, and saw that the cutout of her favorite childhood cartoon character was now leaning against the wall. Either someone was trying to pull a fast one on them, or something much more sinister was going down, she hoped it wasn't the second reason.

Upon stepping into the theater, a projector turned on by itself, showing a small animation on the wall. It appeared to be a cycle, or gif, of Bendy dancing. All the while, whistling could be heard. The switch controlling the ink pressure was located on the wall behind it. Yang flipped it without even thinking, wanting to get out of the studio as fast as possible. Once she did that, a pipe above her and Weiss burst, causing ink to spay everywhere. The black writing liquid was soon up to their ankles.

"Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew!" Weiss groaned, "I just cleaned these shoes!" Yang snickered as she slowly walked out of the room, helping her partner by the hand. They then retracted their steps, back to the break room, where the switch was now armed and ready. Just before Yang could flip it, Weiss grabbed her arm. "Are you sure that this is the best course of action?" she asked.

"No, but it is a course." Yang stated, as she flipped the lever. All of the lights in the studio changed from bright and vibrant, to dim. The sounds of the Ink Machine pumping out ink could be heard, all the way from the break room. "Let's go check it out." Yang said, leading the way back to the machine's room. But when they got to the room, its entrance was covered with wooden boards. It looked like someone has hastily nailed them there to prevent anyone from getting in. Yang squinted, and got closer to the boards, peering inside the room. She could see the ink pouring out of the Ink Machine, and several puddles and stains of it were on the floor. Suddenly, a figure popped up in front of Yang's face, and pushed her to the ground. She couldn't get a good look of the figure, as it retreated back into the room.

"YANG!" Weiss screamed, as she got her partner back up to her feet. All of a sudden, ink began to pour down from the walls and ceiling, threatening to drown the girls.

"We gotta get the hell out of here!" Yang shouted, as she grabbed Weiss's hand and began to make a run for the exit, nearly dragging the ice queen behind her. All the while, ink continued to flood the halls. Just as the two huntresses got to the exit, the floorboards beneath them gave way, and they both fell. They screamed as they descended deeper into the studio, before landing with a splash in a large pool of ink. The two soon got their bearings, and stood up. Their feet and hair were covered with wet, black ink. With quick thinking, Yang used a crank on a nearby pipe, and made all the ink drain out of the room.

"What, in the name of creation was THAT?!" Weiss shrieked.

"I have no idea!" Yang retorted, "I didn't get a good look at it!" Weiss let out an annoyed and confused groan, as she turned around, and saw another audio tape on a shelve. This one had a different name on it, "Thomas Connor". She grabbed it, and pressed the play button, as Yang listened as well.

"It's dark and it's cold and it's stuck in behind every single wall now. In some places, I swear this godforsaken ink is clear up to my knees! Who ever thought these crummy pipes could hold up under this kind of strain either knows something about pressure I don't, or he's some kind of idiot. But the real worst part about all this… are them noises the system makes. Like a dying dog on its last legs. Make no mistake, this place… this... machine… heck, this whole darn thing… it just isn't natural. You can bet, I won't be doing any more repair jobs for Mister Joey Drew."

From what Weiss could gather, Thomas sounded like a mechanic, someone who had worked on and or fixed the many mechanisms in the studio. But, like Wally's tape, things didn't make sense. Clearly, there was a bigger picture in this hellish studio, and it wasn't entirely clear. But there were no solid answers at the moment, so the two huntresses had to move on.

They descended further down into the basement, as it was the only place to go, and found another room completely flooded with ink. From a distance, Weiss could see the Ink Machine being lowered down into the darkness. After they drained the ink, they went down another flight of stairs, only to find yet another ink-flooded room. One more crank turn later, and the room was cleared of ink. Yang then saw an axe leaning against the wall, next to a board-covered hallway.

"Oh yeah, this could do some damage!" she grinned, as she picked up the weapon. It would be her best defense against anything that could be lurking down here. With quick and efficient strikes of the axe, she cleared away the boards in the hallway, as Weiss followed close behind. But once they got through it, they saw another unnerving sight. It was a room with a large pentagram on the floor written in ink, with candles on it. There were also two coffins leaning against the wall, and one lying sideways on the floor. At this point, Weiss felt her pulse increase, as she gazed upon the ritual-like scene, that looked like something in a horror movie. Yang moved to the pentagram to get a better look at it, and ended up standing on it.

In an instant, Yang felt a surging pain in her head, like her brain was about to explode. She screamed in agony, and fell to her knees, grasping her head. She saw three images flash before her eyes, a wheelchair, an ink machine, and some black humanoid creature, with a very familiar smile. She then collapsed on the floor, unconscious.

And there we go, sorry for the long wait. I was finishing up work, and was taking some time to myself. I'm going to be taking my driving test next week, and going to Disney for the last week of summer. So, I'll try to do another Cuphead chapter, and then sign off for a while. Until then, tell me if you liked the new story, PEACE!
