(A/N): Ooh, a ship!

Jinoochy (Jinora+Skoochy)
The urchin and the airbender

Jinora's never wandered Republic City's streets alone before. The farthest she's ever been is the Council Chamber and the Library, both with her father. Jinora finds all she can see fascinating, far more than any book, and that truly meant something to the devoted bookworm. Recalling the map from memory, she believes herself to be near Miss Asami Sato's estate, but nothing looks like it would even belong there. Though Jinora should be worried, she doesn't mind the place she is. In fact, it reminds her of the old towns that her grandfather, Avatar Aang, had traveled in. She shuts her eyes, trying to imagine being in his once twelve year-old shoes back when it was him, Gran Gran Katara, and Uncle Sokka.
"H-hey! Watch where you're goin'!" A boy's voice yells, and Jinora breaks her fantasy, just in time to see a small child cross the dirty street. A satomobile zooms dangerously fast, no time to hit the breaks even if they wanted to. Before she can think, Jinora's at the frightened child's side, then out of harms way as the vehicle carries on without a care.

"I've got you." Jinora smiles, but the kid runs away with a cry, back into the safety of her worried mother's arms. It reminds Jinora of doing the same when she was younger to both her mother and father.

"Nice save there, airbender." It's the boy's voice again, and Jinora turns to face him. He's no older than her of ten. And pretty handsome, like how Avatar Korra thought of Mako.

"Um, thanks."

"Y'know, you don't look like you belong here, airbender. You lost or something?" He holds out a hand, and she takes it, unsure if that's the right thing to do.

"My name is Jinora." She corrects him, though she does like the way he says 'airbender'. "And yes, I am lost. Do you know where the Sato estate is from here?"

"Name's Skoochy, and I might." He brushes his nose with a strike of his thumb, holding out his other hand. "But my mind is a little foggy. Maybe you could clear it up?"

"Oh, okay." Jinora places her hand across from his face, to his confusion, and a soft gust of wind emits from it to Skoochy's face. His hat falls down to the dirty street, and his hair poofs out free.

"You crazy?" Skoochy scoops up his hat, tucking his hair back under it. "I meant yuans!"

"Oh." Flustered, she reaches into her air acolyte uniform but comes out empty handed. "I-I don't have any."

"You are crazy." The boy confirms and sticks his hands in his pockets and tries to hide his own blush. "But, uh, I can't leave a crazy girl like you here by yourself."

If this is what Avatar Korra has to deal with with Mako, maybe Ikki and I shouldn't tease her as much.

"You're going to help me?"

"Someone's gotta, air-I mean, Jinora." Another blush from her name.
"Thank you, Skoochy."
"Yeah, no big deal." Skoochy clears his throat and takes her hand, pretending like it isn't to both of them.
Like the Moon Princess and the Southern Tribes Boy.
