AN: I actually read this poem to my entire English class, which is why there aren't any obvious references. I don't need more people thinking I'm a weirdo! Hope you enjoy! Please review!

She opens her eyes
Beep beep beep
White walls, plain beds
Blinking machines
If he finds me here, he'll beat me.

Sitting up
She looks around
No one's here
She can run
I have to escape.

IV needle
Ripped out
She doesn't notice
She's felt worse
Can't let him know.

Pounding feet
Pounding head
Racing mind
Shouting voices
"You can't leave yet!"

Out the doors
Down the street
One deep breath
Slowly opened front door
Hope he's not home yet.

Growling voice
Stomping feet
She can't breath
She's too afraid
"Where were you, you lazy loaf?!"

Her mouth opens
But she can't make a sound
Her thoughts still flying
Through her mind
You should have known not to hope.

The pain
Tiny supernovas
On the insides of her eyelids
Before mercifully fading to black
No sound. No tears.

A white light
Far off
She runs towards it
Feet flying
At last.

Quiet murmurs
All around her
A smile spreads across her face
For the first time in far too long
I'm free!

She opens her eyes
Ready
Beep beep beep

Fuck.
