Lost Hopes

Life is hard, extremely hard for young thirteen year old Kotoru. She had been left alone for seven years, it was only luck that she survived by living on her own. Seven years ago both her parents had been killed in a war, a war against her home country, and a royal nation that planned to take over and rule Japan. Sadly, Japan had lost in the war and was now being ruled over that royal nation.

Now to this day, many lives have been taken from the Japanese people, the Royal army will kill who ever disobeys the Royal family. That disgusted Kotoru the most, to think that they can come here and rule over whatever they want and take lives as they wish. Just like they took her parent's lives, and imprisoned her older brother as well. She lived a lonely life, she had no family nor friends left. No one to turn to or talk to when she felt lonely. Life was just a living hell, she'd rather be dead, but wanted her revenge, revenge for her family and all her friends that were once alive. She had sworn to herself she would get her revenge on the Royal family, she didn't know how but she would.

It was just another day in Japan, army soldiers were wondering around, making sure no one broke the Royal family's rules. All the Japanese lived in fear of their life being taken. Kotoru snorted as she walked along the side of a street, a blue cape hung around her shoulders and her black top and skirt blew as a warm breeze passed. She hated the Royal family with so much, she wished she could just kill them with her bare hands, she didn't even care if she became a murderer, she didn't care anymore.

She watched the people she passed carefully, before turning into a narrow alley way, at the end there was a stack of old wooden crates and a bundle of hay in the corner. Kotoru sighed sadly as she knelt onto her knees, uncovering a photograph in the bits of hay. She instantly smiled slightly, the face of her brother always made her happy, he had such an alive spirit, it was almost like he was there with her. She liked that feeling, she felt comfortable and safe, he had always made her happy, and he always stood up for at school. But all those special days with her loved brother was long gone. Knowing such a thing broke her heart, life was painful.
