-for Tess. happy incredibly late birthday. sorry for the lateness. xD-

[disclaimed]

my first k. i. s. s.
[i said no more teachers and no more books,
i got a kiss under the bleachers hopin' that nobody looked,
lips like licorice, tongue like candy]

massie block would always always remember her first kiss, even though it seemed like it was a long time ago; she remembered it like it was yesterday.

:~:~:

it happened right before the summer break after fourth grade.

it was the last day of school and westchester elementary school was having their traditional boys vs. girls soccer game.

this was the highlight of massie's summer, and nothing, not even a long vacation in the block's summerhouse in the hamptons, could match up to this.

then, the whistle blew and the game had begun.

massie was the captain and center forward of the girls soccer team and she dominated the field, dodging even the best of the boys team.

she scored goals again and again, helping her team to take the lead against those cocky, egotistic, conceited boys.

at halftime, massie snuck under the bleachers to take a breather from the game, from all the adrenaline she felt coursing through her veins.

the bleachers was massie's safe haven during a soccer game; she would always go there to catch her breath, to think about how to win the game because massie block never loses.

but today, she had a surprise visitor.

cam fisher, the captain of the boys soccer team, walked under the bleachers like he owned it, then stopped in his tracks with his mouth gaping when he saw massie.

"close your mouth, you might catch flies." massie said, rolling her eyes and acting cool and collected, even though she was just as surprised and nervous as he was.

you see, back then, they still thought the opposite gender had cooties and avoided all contact with each other.

but when they looked into each others eyes, they could both feel the connection between them.

it was like the world had been put on pause, that there was no one else in the world but them, and in that moment, it really didn't feel like they were only nine years old.

captivated by his sapphire blue and emerald green eyes, massie took what was supposed to be a timid little step toward him, but she ended up tripping over a rock she didn't see and fell straight into his arms.

nothing happened then, just amber to blue and amber to green.

then, cam started leaning forward.

without thinking and involuntarily, massie leaned forward too.

their lips met and it felt as though they had been ignited by a firework; sensations exploded throughout their bodies and they couldn't feel anything but each other.

breaking their kiss to breathe, cam teasingly said "your lips taste like cinnamon"

massie giggled, then replied "well yours tastes like jolly ranchers"

:~:~:

and the funny thing was, until this day, they were still together.

ever since that fateful moment under those normal old bleachers, they were inseparable.

yes, she drove a red lamborghini now instead of riding her bike around; yes, she listened to 3OH!3 instead of miley cyrus now; and yes, she liked shopping for rings more than barbie dolls now, but inside, neither of them had changed.

they were still the cam fisher and massie block they were back in fourth grade, and that was how it was supposed to be.
