Hermione smirked as Seamus fumbled with his napkin. In all the years she had known him, she had never seen her boyfriend so nervous. "Is everything okay?" she asked coyly.

Seamus's face was bright red. "Yeah, yeah. Everything's fine."

Hermione bit her bottom lip to keep from bursting out laughing. "Whatever you say."

They made small talk as they waited for their dinner to arrive. She knew there was something on Seamus's mind, something he wanted to ask her but for some reason, he couldn't find the right words.

Hopefully, he would find an alternative way to spit out whatever he wanted to say because Hermione had trouble dealing with the suspense of not knowing.

Desert came and went, and they shared a piece of chocolate cheesecake. Seamus had a smudge of chocolate on his chin, and she laughed. She reached to him and swiped her thumb along it, and then licked the sweet substance from her finger.

Seamus's eyes darkened at the action. "Hermione..."

She waited with raised eyebrows.

He took a deep breath, pulled a box from his robes and got down on one knee.

Hermione's breath caught.

"Hermione –" His leg wobbled as he stopped talking, and he lost his balance, falling over on his arse.

Hermione tried to not laugh, not wanting to ruin the moment.

"Ugh, this is so not easy," he sighed, staring at his lap.

"Just ask," she urged.

Seamus looked at her and nodded. Still sitting on the ground, he opened the box. "Hermione, I love you. I love you with all my heart. I'm not sure when I fell in love with you, but I know I will love you for the rest of my life, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you make my dream come true and marry me?"

Tears sparkled in Hermione's brown eyes. "Yes, of course I will marry you. There's nothing else that I want more either."

He slid the ring onto her ring finger, and she got down on the floor next to him, throwing her arms around his neck.

He hugged her back fiercely.

They ignored their clapping customers as Seamus claimed her lips in a fiery kiss.

Seamus's nerves made sense now to Hermione, but there really had been no reason for him to worry about her response.

Her place was with Seamus, and it always would be.
