The Green-Eyed Monster

She had never taken Mako as the jealous type. In fact, no one had taken Mako as the jealous type. The moment he saw that blond punk with Korra, though, Mako knew he'd lost it. The boy's name escapes him now but, at that moment in time, his name wasn't the first thing on Mako's list of things to find out about that punk. Either way, it came as a surprise when Mako came storming toward her and the random boy that decided to come and speak with the very young and beautiful Avatar.

"So…" the blonde laughed, "I was thinking, maybe, we could hang out later and-" his attempted proposal for a date was interrupted by a man walking in on the conversation.

Mako sneered, "Who are you?" he pointed his finger to the boy's chest.

He began, "Do you mind? I'm in the middle of-"

"The middle of what?" Mako growled.

"Excuse me, what is happening?" Korra finally spoke up, confused.

"I was trying to ask you out!" the blond boy angrily huffed while staring at Mako.

"I'm trying to protect you from falling prey to the harassments of boys in Republic City who want to take advantage of you." Mako's eyes bore into the boy's.

"I am not trying to take advantage of Korra!" the boy, attempting to get them away from Mako, grabbed Korra's arm.

Mako grabbed Korra by the waist and pulled her to his side, away from the boy. He protectively wrapped an arm around her waist as he grabbed the boy by the collar, "Don't you ever grab her like that again," He threw the boy to the ground, "and she's the Avatar to you!" The boy scurried off with a look of horror apparent on his face.

"I can take care of myself!" Korra growled angrily, pulling away from him.

"I know that. I just," Mako tried to think of a valid reason as to why he had just done that, "didn't think you'd know that much about city boys," he grew angry, "and that punk was not a good one!"

Korra smiled and turned to face Mako. She wrapped her arms around his neck and dramatically stated, "Beware of jealousy. It is the green-eyed monster which doth mark the meat it feeds on."

Mako smirked wrapping his arms around her waist, "You're going to quote that old air bender?"

"He was very wise, wrote a lot of plays, too."

"Touché."

"So," Korra let her fingers mess with the hair at the nape of his neck, "you've finally decided to admit that you like me."

"Depends," he kissed her cheek softly, "have you admitted that you like me?"

Korra leaned up slightly and kissed him on the lips happily. She pulled away with a smile on her face, "Maybe."
