Something for me to relate to. To get my emotions out, release a bit of steam. More than anyone can think. Sorry if it sucks—it was more of an improvised thing. Wasn't really planned. Poor Hiccup. Pre-movie, from when he was only like, five, to a bit before (or during) the beginning of the movie.

He knows what everyone talks about

The w-h-i-s-p-e-r-s, the looks, the sneers, the r/u/m/o/r/s

The s.c.o.r.n.i.n.g and stories that people think he can't understand

[but he can—all too well]

The way people talk about him

The way his father talks about him

The stories

The r/u/m/o/r/s

The truth

{oh, how he wishes he could call them lies}

The loneliness and the bitterness of it all

The looks that people think he doesn't notice

The ones that have a sneer, or d-i-s-a-p-p-o-i-n-t-m-e-n-t, or something of the sort on their faces

He has to hideaway from them all

Stay in his r~o~o~m

S::n::e::a::k o::u::t when he can

And eventually get [c][a][u][g][h][t] by someone

(his dad,someone else, one of the other kids)

But eventually, he stops c|r|y|i|n|g

[so un-Viking—but what else is new?]

He keeps trying

{and failing}

He just doesn't listen to them

Blocks out their words and their n#a#s#t#y looks

Their s.c.o.r.n.s and t/e/a/s/i/n/g, the mocking of it all

He just learns to look away

To keep away

To shy away

To just . . .
