Another orignal Jay-Jay story, this time it's "Old Oscar and the Storm" Enjoy and comment.
It was a cloudy night in Terrytown and all the airplanes were grounded because of the fog in the sky. What they didn't know was that a big rainstorm was fast approching.
Brenda Blue, the lady in charge of Terrytown Airport, came to make a announcement.
"A big rainstorm is approaching Terrytown, so I need all the engines to take shelter in the shelter.
"Yes Brenda Blue!" said the other airplanes, and they went in the shelter in the old shed.
But Old Oscar didn't want to go in the shelter. He liked watching the storms from inside the hanger, he didn't like the shelter that the other planes were going in.
Brenda Blue was worried about Old Oscar.
"Why aren't you going in the shed?" she asked.
"Because I like to watch the rain." replied Old Oscar.
"But this rainstorm is dangerous. You really need to go in the shed Old Oscar.
"I don't want too!"
Later, the rain had begun to fall. Old Oscar was watching the rain from inside the hanger, and getting very wet in the process.
All the other engines were inside the shelter and didn't want to get wet, so they couldn't come out to convince him to join them in the shed.
Brenda Blue came back out with an umbrella, which she held under Old Oscar.
"There you go." she said. "Now you can be nice and dry and still enjoy the rain."
"Big deal." said Old Oscar. "I rather be wet."
"Old Oscar, why do you like the rain?"
"It's nice to hear the plop plop sound, and it makes me feel happy."
"Well, wouldn't it be nice to be in the sheds with your friends?"
"No."
But later, it began to rain and hail outside.
"Look at it." said Brenda Blue. "Why don't you go in the shed now so you won't get soaked?"
Not wanting to get soaked, Old Oscar flew to the shelter where all the other airplanes were watching the storm.
"Isn't it great? The shelter is warm and cozy, and you can still see the rain without getting frozen or cold."
Old Oscar learned that trying new things is a very good thing to do.
