You should add the Harry Potter series to your collection of books. In this collection of tales about magical adventures, you'll follow wizard Harry Potter and his two best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley as they traipse about the grounds of Hogwarts fighting Voldemort and his minions and getting into heaps of trouble. They are by far the best books I've read for a while. J.K. Rowling is able to wrap her words around you and paint a masterpiece unlike any other.

So many other people have read these and loved them. Famous people and regular Joe's like us endorse them all over the world. Even Pope Benedict XVI approved the series, saying that "the sixth entry in the film franchise adapted from the J.K. Rowling novels was the best of the series." Furthermore, he goes on to say, "the mixture of supernatural suspense sets the right balance, making the adventures of the protagonists more credible." Statistics report that over half the children in America have read at least one. Plus, only 7% of the people who are aware of these amazing books disapprove. You will not be numbered among those 7%, trust me. I say this mostly because it's a work of art destined for the classics shelf, but also because it's captured the heart of the world since 1997 when the first book was published. It has been translated and appropriately modified for 67 languages, and published in over 200 different countries (sometimes even smuggled in.) Are you starting to understand how truly wonderful these books are?

The books are still adding new readers and fanatics who all continue to cherish and reread the over 400 million copies sold. J.K Rowling is already making her way to the top of the list of best fiction writers in the world. She's a good enough writer to keep nearly the entire world entranced and waiting on the edge of their seats for the next plot twist.

Here's some general background, I'll try not to reveal anything too important. Harry, a young wizard, orphaned at age 1, is raised by his completely normal, non-magical aunt and uncle. At age 11, he receives a letter via owl and is whisked off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There he makes a gang of friends who all help him fend off Voldemort and other magical enemies. Harry and his friends learn all sorts of ludicrous magic from their slightly abnormal professors and have a magical adventure every year.

Rowling expertly helps the reader relate to her characters by letting you into their minds. She perfectly develops her characters. Just watch. When you read it, you'll see how deftly she brings them to life with dialogue, detailed descriptions, thoughts, and actions to match. And what characters they are, the quirky but loveable Luna, awkward and brave Neville, bookish and fiercely loyal Hermione, Ron, the ideal friend who occasionally steps off the bandwagon, Ginny, the bright, lovesick younger sister of Ron, and of course Harry Potter, a brave, troubled young wizard. You'll be caught up by the mix of teen angst, magic, trouble making, and be swept away by the story of growing up, making friends, learning spells, and fighting evil.

I personally happen to adore these books. So far, I've read them nine and one half times. Who knows, you may like them just as much as I did. It is guaranteed, no doubt about it that you will like, love, adore, etc. this series. If this hasn't convinced you yet that you desperately need to read the Harry Potter series, then I don't know what will.
