Emma looked at her brother with a disgusted look. "Why does he look so red and raisiny? "

Ross looked at his five-year-old daughter with an almost uncontainable grin. The little blonde had her face pressed up against the glass to the hospital nursery. He couldn't help but think that the way her nose wrinkled up made her look like her mother. "Raisiny?" He coughed, letting out a short bark of laughter amongst it.

Emma pulled away just enough time to give her dad a silly look that said 'yeah I did, what's the matter with that?' and then went right back to staring through the fogged up glass.

Ross felt his heart leap, and something soared in it. Crouching down, he pulled his daughter away from the glass and around so that she was facing him. Letting a small smile shine through his 'poker face,' he looked into Emma's brown eyes, and opened his mouth to speak.

"What, daddy?" She squealed, trying to break free. Giggles started to bubble out of her, the sound making her dad smile bigger.

"He looks that way because he is a newborn. At one point, so did you." He bopped her on her small, well-rounded nose and kissed her forehead lightly.

Emma laughed a tinkling laugh at that. "Aw naw, daddy, no I didn't! I was adorable!"

Ross laughed and ruffled her short hair. "You're right. You were adorable, Emma." He let this one go. She was just a kid, and besides, she was just too adorable. In his head, that cracked him up.

"Uh, daddy?" Her voice rang out, making him rejoin the real world.

"Yes?" He chuckled, still a little in the moment.

"Whatever just went on in your head probably wasn't even funny." Her face was a mask of seriousness.

His smile faded, as he realized that his child just burned him. "Probably not." He patted her head and stood up. His gaze wandered to his son, and in his peripheral, he saw his daughter press up against the glass again-

Not able to help himself, he found himself pressed up against it like his daughter. A nurse that had just walked in gave him the 'you're crazy' look, prompting him to cross his eyes at her.

She turned away, and he focused back on his son. He was adorable, Ross realized, content in that moment.
