Nothing had ever been simple for Kirk or Spock in their lives before so why should that change now? It was around the time that Kirk was made captain when the two men had realised their feelings for each other. But Spock was still with Uhura and Kirk wasn't gay, so they could never be together, right? Yet not a day went past without stolen glances or subtle touches between the captain and his first officer, and although Kirk knew that Spock had now ended things with nyota he had never asked why.
It took weeks, maybe months of darting around each other before Kirk finally confronted Spock. He was far from casual about it when after shift he dragged Spock to his quarters, sat him down, locked the door and refused to open it until they actually spoke about what the hell was going on between them, because Kirk was now confused as fuck!
For a moment Spock was rendered speechless, so Kirk was the first to speak again.
"Spock!" he yelled "I need to know"
For a few moments it seems as though when the Vulcan opened his mouth to speak, there were no words coming out when suddenly, "I believe captain that you are indeed my thyla" came rushing out all at once.
This time it was the captain who was speechless. "Why didn't you tell me this?"
"Because a thyla is forever. I don't know how you would feel about that" The first officer looked sad and Kirk couldn't stand it, he sat down next to him and engulfed him in a hug. "I'm willing to try forever Spock. As long as it's with you" Soft tears were starting to form in his eyes as he lent in to kiss the Vulcan gently. "I love you, you damn green hobgoblin"
"As I love you Captain, my thyla"
