Jae-ha wasn't quite sure what freedom was.
Sure, it had been what he'd been longing for, and what he'd managed to taste when he joined the pirates... but when he joined them, he had known that the freedom he had was only temporary.
One day they'd defeat Kum-ji. And Jae-ha... no matter how much he wanted to deny it, to scream that it wouldn't happen... he'd be left alone again. And being left alone was practically the same as being chained down and being unable to do anything.
He was scared of that day. While it was fun to be useful to those people who so easily accepted him, he didn't want to have to have that day where the pirates finally won and disbanded, despite knowing that his selfish hesitation was robbing others of their freedom.
Jae-ha didn't want something that was temporary.
He wanted something that lasted... lasted forever... or, at least, as long as Jae-ha was alive.
But he had given up, and figured that such a thing was impossible.
But then he had met Yona.
She was different than he had expected. But at the same time, she was much, much better. The freedom that Yona offered didn't exactly match with what he had expected, but at the same time, it was more than he could ever had asked for.
Jae-ha wasn't quite sure what freedom was.
But he was pretty sure that Yona was it.
