"So, Ferb…I've been thinking."

The older brother looked up from his book and raised his eyebrow.

"I think I might like Isabella. I mean, I've always liked her. She is my best friend after all, besides you of course, but…I think it's more like…like Jeremy and Candace."

"I know."

"But it's awfully sudden, so—wait. You what?"

"I know, Phineas," Ferb repeated slowly.

The younger boy gaped. "But…but I didn't even know until last night! How could you know already?"

Ferb narrowed his eyes at his brother as if to say please. "Remember how you built a whole haunted house to cure her hiccups?"

Face downcast, Phineas peered upwards at Ferb from under his eyelashes and responded sheepishly, "You thought it sounded it fun too…"

"I got catapulted to the top of it and fell all the way back down, and you didn't notice."

"I—what?"

"Plus, you held onto her the whole time. You made a car wash for her…in fact, I can't count the number of times our plans were decided by Isabella, either directly or indirectly."

"But—"

"You always smile when she's over. And when she's not here, you wonder where she is and what she's doing."

"So…I've liked her all along and I just didn't know it? What's up with that?"

Ferb shrugged, but smiled a little. Finally, Phineas was done being oblivious.

"Ferb?"

The boy met his little brother's eyes.

"Do you think she likes me too?"

Ferb smacked his forehead with his palm.

You can probably tell that I've watched "One Good Scare Ought to do it" a lot lately. I love it! It's so adorable.
