She could crush him; with the flicker of her eyes, the softest breath from her lips, or any other such slight, innocent means. He was completely at her mercy, without any means of defense, and he relished how completely she possessed him... if only he could possess her just the same. At that moment- that moment that could define his entire existence, past and future- he knew his downfall was eminent, or else his elation, as his heart pounded, feeling the warm flesh of her freckled cheek beneath his palm, his thumb stroking her skin as her eyes stared into him. They'd come so far but there was so far to go and, although his head told him he would be crushed and lose whatever he had with her as her friend, his heart would not have him hold back, to not risk everything for the chance.
He at once felt that he was flying and falling, and there was only one way to secure himself, to bring him to the greatest heights...
and his lips alit on hers.
