Kino was learning more about genetic disorders and disease then she cared to ever know. With out a fail though she pushed Hermes through the narrow spaces between the displays, pausing to allow him to read the various plaques. Reading them aloud for him sometimes, much to her dismay. With a habit to absorb any information sent her way she kept a tab on what she was learning. But who really seemed to be enjoying the museum, oddly enough was Hermes.
"Hey Kino!" was shouted in a loud voice that attracted the stares of other people, doctors Kino noted, who were there for silence and study.
Turning to face the display closest to Hermes she was confronted with images of a man who's skin was terribly misshapen. Cringing inwardly at the imagry she looked down at Hermes, hands in her jacket pockets, "What?" Was asked in a calm, bored voice.
Without skipping a beat he voiced what he wanted, "Read this to me Kino."
Sighing lightly she started to read the plaque aloud; "Neurofibromatosis is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder."
"There's more Kino," he prompted.
Pushing her hands further into her pockets the continued; "It effects the body by causing varied sized tumors to grow along the nerves." Without quoting the plaque Kino added sarcastically, "Which no doubt is painful, as shown by this picture center right."
Hermes seemed satisfied with what little information that he was given, "I want to see the next one Kino!" he shouted cheerfully, once again attracting attention.
Pushing him to the next display the dark haired traveler looked over the few pictures and read a few words here and there. Most notably was a picture of a man who's chest was sunken in at the center. Silently looking she looked over at Hermes, "Want me to read it to you?" she asked in a simple tone.
"Yes please," Hermes said, displaying manners for once and keeping his voice down.
Quickly locating the plaque she started to quote it; "Marfan Syndrome is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder," Pausing for a moment she was reminded of the earlier announcement on Neurofibromatosis. She soon continued though, "It affects the connective tissue of the body and can cause weakening in the cardiovascular system. Patients with the syndrome are characterized with long thin fingers, tall stature and disproportional long limbs." There Kino stopped and looked over at Hermes.
He made a sound that symbolized something close to thinking, "I wonder if Shizu has more fans?" he asked aloud in a completely serious tone.
Silent for a while Kino thought about who the motorrad was talking about. Then quickly recalled the tall swordsman from a prior country. She remained silent however.
"He is really tall though," Hermes continued as if he'd just done some ground breaking research, "And he does look out of propulsion..."
Looking over to her companion she raised an eyebrow, "More fans?"
"Yeah!" he enthusiastically announced, "It affects the cardiovascular system." Quite for a few seconds he added in an accusing tone, "Kino, do you have old timers or something?"
"Alzheimer's," Kino corrected, "And no."
Hermes was satisfied with that answer and Kino moved on.
"You mean Marfans?" Kino asked as they neared the exit of the museum. Too much medicine in one day for Kino.
"That's what I said," Hermes countered as the short girl nodded.
Once they were outside she paused to look up at the clouds, "Maybe you could ask him if we see him again."
"Are you saying you want to!" Hermes yelled this accusingly as if Kino were acting like she was love sick.
Looking down from the sky she looked over at the motored vehicle, "No."

Inspired by my sisters, I must say.
