Chapter 1: Dreams and Dinner Parties

Lily closed her eyes and let the pleasure flow over her. She curled her toes and a small moan escaped from her mouth. Why had she waited so long for this moment? She opened her eyes and stared deeply into his eyes. He smiled wickedly at her and pressed kisses down her neck. As he moved lower towards her breasts she arched her back and pressed her breasts forward, demanding that he pay attention to them and closed her eyes again as another wave of pleasure flowed over her.

As he moved lower towards them he broke the silence, "Lily" he murmured sweetly. Lily kept her eyes closed and ran her hands through his thick hair. "Lily" it came again, only this time louder. She opened her eyes and looked down at him. Only this time when he said her name it wasn't his voice.

"Lily Evans. Don't make me come up there!"

Lily's eyes flew open as she surveyed her surroundings. She was in her bed, in her room, in her house. He was nowhere to be seen. She groaned and threw her pillow over her head. This couldn't be happening again. How was it that she could be having dreams like this? Dreams about him! She hated him! This was not normal.

The door to her room swung open and light filled in. Her mum was standing there with her hands on her hips with her 'I'm not impressed with you' look on her face. "Lily I have been calling you for 10 minutes. Just because you are on holidays does not give you the right to sleep the whole day away. We have a wedding in two weeks' time."

Lily groaned more and pulled the pillow over her head more in a pathetic attempt of protest. "This is not the time for games!" her mother said pulling the blankets off her bed, "up, now!"

Lily groaned, once more in protest, then threw off the pillow and got out of bed. "I don't know why I even bother. It's not like Petunia even wants me there."

Rose Evans looked at her daughter, "I don't know why you girls just don't stop with this childish behaviour and grow up. When I die you will be the only family each other has."

Lily grunted, "Tuney will have Vermin. So she won't bother about me."

"Lily," Rose said in her warning voice, "Vernon is a lovely man and Petunia is lucky to have someone who loves her as much as he does."

Lily rolled her eyes dramatically and brushed past her mother telling her she was going to have a shower.

Once in the bathroom she locked the door and leaned back against the door. She closed her eyes and ran her hands through her hair. Lily was still reeling from the dream. She couldn't believe that he had someway made his way into her dreams. Him, of all people. Why couldn't it have been someone she actually liked?

Trying to push him out of her mind she moved to the sink and pulled her long, curly mass of red hair into a ponytail and stepped into the shower. She stood under the jets of hot water for a good 15 minutes before turning off the taps and getting out the shower. She dried herself off, wrapped the towel around her body and then headed to her bedroom.

She bumped into Petunia as she left the bathroom. "Could you have taken any longer?" she asked with her hands on her hips.

Lily shrugged, "Probably. But I didn't want to turn into a prune."

"Could add to your freakiness." She smiled over-sweetly at her then brushed past and went into the bathroom slamming the door behind her.

Lily, now used to the outbursts of her sister, shrugged it off and went into her room and got dressed. She pulled on a matching green lacy pair of knickers and bra and then pulled on her favourite jeans and a baggy black t-shirt.

She shoved her wand in her back pocket and made her way down the stairs where she found her mother in the kitchen cooking. Grabbing one of the carrots she had just peeled she sat herself down on the kitchen stool. "Bit early to be getting ready for dinner. Don't you think mum?" She asked before chomping down on the carrot.

"Really Lily I wonder where your head is at sometimes." Rose said not looking up from the vegetables she was peeling, "Vernon and his family are coming over for lunch to go over the final details of the wedding. I don't know how many times I have to tell you."

Lily groaned and banged her head against the bench. "Can't I just be sick? I'm sure Petunia would enjoy the afternoon better if I wasn't around."

"I am sick and tired of hearing your protests. You will have dinner with us and you will enjoy it." Rose paused, looking up from the vegetables, "well at least pretend to enjoy yourself."

Lily laughed and finished her carrot. "Fine I'll be on my best behaviour and promise I won't ruin your lunch."

"It's not my lunch…" Rose started.

"It's mine." Petunia said walking into the kitchen, "and you had better not mess it up with any of your freak stuff."

"What?" Lily said innocently pulling out her wand, "like this?" she asked waving her wand and the dishes started doing themselves.

"Mum!" Petunia shrieked. "Make her stop."

Rose turned to the sink and smiled, "Thanks Lily."

Lily smiled sweetly at her mother, "any time mum."

Petunia groaned, stamped her foot and left the room slamming the door behind her.

"Dramatic." Lily muttered putting her wand back in her pocket.

Rose tried not to smile at her youngest daughters comment and flicked her with the tea towel in mock punishment.

At exactly noon the doorbell rang and Petunia ran from down stairs, pausing only for a second at the front door to smooth down the dress she was wearing. She flung open the door and smiled sweetly as she welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Dursley to 'her' home.

Lily was still sitting the kitchen keeping her mum entertained when Petunia rushed in telling them both off for being rude to their guests. Rose washed her hands and headed into the lounge room. Lily rolled her eyes and followed.

The lunch proceed with Petunia holding court about what had to happen at the wedding. There was no compromise. It was her way or no way. Lily was just about to start cleaning up the plates after the trifle when an owl flew in through the open window in the kitchen.

Vernon and his father looked shocked, Mrs. Dursley put her hand to her heart as if she just suffered a heart-attack, Rose was unfazed by the owl flying into her kitchen and Petunia let out a shriek.

"You promised!" she yelled a Lily standing up from her seat. Everyone turned to look at her. "You promised no freak stuff!"

Lily stood up and saw red, "Oh yeah. Like I have real control over when the mail comes. It's not like I set it up to happen."

"You did. You must have. I has been your goal in life since you started going to that freak-show school to ruin my life!"

Lily turned on her heel and left the room, stopping in at the kitchen to get her letter which contained the Hogwarts seal and headed up to her bedroom. In the dining room there was still a stunned silence and the Dursley's where still staring at their soon-to-be daughter-in-law. Rose decided to take control of the situation.

Standing up from her chair she started to collect the empty dessert plates. Petunia took this opportunity to leave. She ran out the room, banged her way up the stairs and the slamming of her bedroom door followed shortly after.

"Sorry about that." She said to the Dursley's "We have a slight owl problem here. I really should know better than to leave the windows open."
