"Great!" Thought Maria Rainer to herself. Her train to Vienna had just been delayed. "I might as well make myself comfortable." Maria whispered under her breath. She sought out to find the little shop that she passed earlier in hope of maybe finding something to keep herself busy.
She found the little shop and brought herself a book and a packet of chocolate chip cookies to snack on.
Maria found a comfortable looking bench and sat next to a stranger, giving them a friendly smile.
A little while later when Maria was just starting to enjoy her book she saw out of the corner of her eye that the man next to her had taken one of the cookies out of the packet that was in between them on the bench. She thought she'd better ignore it, after all its only one little cookie. A bit later on it happened again, each time she took a cookie he took one too. When there was just one cookie left she wondered what she should do, she decided to wait. Then the stranger took the last cookie, broke it in half and gave her one half before eating his piece. Hesitantly, she took the piece of cookie out of his hand and ate it. They looked at each other when suddenly Maria heard the conductor announce that the people on the trip to Vienna needed to board the jumped up and grabbed her things without looking back.
On the train the old woman sitting next to her informed her that Maria was sitting next to the brave Naval hero Captain Georg VonTrapp. Maria couldn't believe that a naval hero would be so rude as to be a cookie thief.
In order to make the trip shorter she rummaged through her bag to find her book, instead she found another packet of cookies.
Realisation dawned over Maria and her eyes widened, "I'm the cookie thief." She practically shouted as she realised that her cookies had been in her bag the whole time.
