Disclaimer: I Do not own the wonderful song Nobody puts Baby in the corner. That belongs to Fall Out boy. I don't own Harry Potter either. -Sigh-
I'll be your best kept secret and your biggest mistake.
Ten words, one line in a song. If you look at it in numbers it doesn't amount to much. But to them it meant more. Ten words became the whole relationship. It defined everything about what they felt for the other. They had their reasons for keeping it secret. The more obvious ones, but some not so clear cut. The ones that make it a mistake. But they were still risking it. And those ten words, ten simple words, forty four simple letters, showed everything they need to know about, the present and the future for them both.
But it was O.K because they both knew what would happen eventually. They knew mistakes were overcome sooner or later. They could always be pushed to the back of the mind. They had just encountered another problem and now they weren't so sure.
They weren't sure when it stopped being just sex. Just a convenience. Just another way to piss people off. But it had, it was deeper now and that was more dangerous than before. Feelings were involved, and feelings killed people. They were going to get hurt so they kept repeating the same ten words over and over. Hoping to remind themselves, but this wasn't working anymore. Forty four letters were no longer enough to save them.
They were living in a dream world were everything would work itself out eventually. Even he was imagining the day he could make his jealousy know, when someone else hugged, her spoke to her, brushed past her in the corridor. Kiss her senseless and proclaim her as his own. She invented a Hollywood happy ending where she would have the perfect life, the perfect children, the perfect house. But deep now she knew he wasn't the perfect man she was dreaming of. He was better. But she couldn't have him because the world were everything works out perfectly is just a fantasy.
They both knew the should have ended it when the first real words between them were spoken. But it was too late now. Now it was simply an addiction. One that throbbed through their veins. Sucking the reality out of them.
Forty four letters showed the difference between fantasy and reality but their grasp on it was slipping.
Forty four letters, ten words and one line in a song defined them.
I'll be your best kept secret and your biggest mistake.
It was the one line that showed them the truth but the one line that destroyed them because it was a reality.
A/N: I heard this song and quite instantly thought of this. It was written on the bus to school. It was my first try at an angst piece. Did I do it well or should I stick to the more humour type fics? Press the little button and review. I would really appreciate it
