Oh, the pains of Love.

Love is a force un-challenged in power. Love brings people together and tears them apart. The dictionary defines love as "a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person." Love knows no bounds and has no limits. The bible says "Love is patient, love is kind." And this is true, but love is also jealous and unforgiving. Love can bring the most majestic joy, but can lash out in unbearable pain.

Love has been morphed into a word that is only thought of as a positive emotion but this is not necessarily true. As addressed earlier the dictionary does not specify the positive or negative effect of the word love. When a person thinks of the word love he thinks of a cute date or maybe a happily married couple but never would he suspect it in a negative light. Love although can be unforgiving and heartless.

Walking with the shattered pieces of his heart, he is tortured by the unending cruelty of love. Unfair and unjust love, itself, Cupid lashes out on a one Nico Di Angelo leaving him mourning, loving someone who will never love him back. Darkness and emptiness consume him, the pain of hopeless love turns his heart of gold to pure stone. The so called gentleness of love does not shine on Nico, no it rather latches on to his soul and feeds on the lamentation, filling its own desires. Love is greedy and wants everything and will not be satisfied until it has conquered every last soul. What happens to the man who loves someone else's wife, or a widow whose husband has died? They are left, tattered with a gaping endless whole in their heart that demands to be filled. Alas it is hopeless nothing can quench the thirst of the raging sorrow that bellows and shakes their very existence. Hate, resentment, guilt, and pure evil replace genteelness, kindness, thoughtfulness, and joy morphing a kind person into a biter beast. And who is to blame but love? That foul thing that disguises itself as bliss is revealed through the malice and unhuman things it does. A wound to the skin will heal, but a scar to the heart will ache and throb forever.

Love is not always a good thing and can be a monster of merciless brutality. A person needs to understand the full definition of a word before they can start to label it as virtuous or wicked. Love is a vice not a virtue.
