Just because this is such a cute couple
Mickey Smith had several reasons why he didn't want to go back to the parallel universe. Yeah, a big one was that his grandmother died, so there wasn't any family left for him anymore, but there were definitely other reasons. He had accepted a long time ago that he would never get Rose back, hey, who can compete with a time-lord who has hair that defies gravity? That was one of the reasons that he escaped into the parallel universe in the first place. During his short travels with the alien, he accepted that what the doctor and Rose had was real. Even when Rose got trapped in the parallel universe, and he felt that there still could be a small chance that she would settle for him, he knew inside that is was impossible. His suspicions were correct when Rose began working on the dimension cannon, despite the experts' claims that it was just purely impossible. Mickey supported her through it all, and was there when she took off into the void, and no matter how hot-headed he truly was, he could tell at that point that Rose was never going to love him in that way again. But secretly, the real reason that he stayed was because he saw it. That same look that painted his face when he saw the doctor and Rose cuddled up together for a nap, or seeing what the doctor would do to protect Rose. He saw the pained expression of unrequited love, and instantly felt a bond with her. It happened in the TARDIS, when they were toeing the earth back to its place. He looked over at the Rose, who was smiling radiantly up at the doctor, who was giving her that same smile. She looked years younger than when she appeared in the parallel universe. Mickey smiled sadly at the bitter-sweet scene. Suddenly, the TARDIS hit a sudden bump, and his Gaze shifted to the left, there he saw a beautiful young woman who was looking at the same scene, with the same look of utter loss and defeat. Mickey wanted to go over there and give that girl a hug, and tell her that she was worth it. She is loved and cared for. He instinctively knew that this girl was in love with the same skinny man that Rose fancied. He smiled at their shared connection, and felt a bond formed in between them. It was like in high school, when you see this super attractive girl, and you swore that you two were destined to be together, even though you guys have never said a word to each other. He laughed, and knew that it would never happen, he barely even knew the girl. But hey, he's got nothing to lose, what would happen if he gave it just one shot, and threw all of the dice in. so that was the reason why he chose to stay in this world. As he stepped off the TARDIS, he felt his slate become clean, and he knew deep inside, that maybe he will get a happily ever after, after all.
I'm thinking of maybe making a chapter story out of this, maybe one shots?
